No.

I think you can get them at online pharmacies eg boots/superdrug. You might have to give a blood pressure reading

I think your application is then checked by an online doctor but of course you’ll have to pay around £15 for three months supply

I have my cocp from my pharmacy, saves bothering the gp. You have a face to face consultation and they weigh you and take your height. I find it extremely useful. Not sure about online ones though..??

Hotdayinjuly · 23/06/2025 23:49

Not sure why people are saying no, if you don’t know for definite don’t guess and spread misinformation

Yes you can in person or some online pharmacies too

If this is being asked by a teenager then you can get them from a family planning clinic. But a GP won’t tell your parents and it will be free either way

Lavendersong · 23/06/2025 23:54

Also you don’t have to visit your GP you should be able to get it as a repeat prescription sent to your pharmacy to collect
if it’s the first time you’re getting it prescribed you probably need to go in to get your BP

queenofthesuburbs · 24/06/2025 00:03

If you’re a teenager just look up your local family planning clinic. They’ll have walk in appointments

I did from Boots, I had to have a consultation and my blood pressure, weight etc checked. Then the pharmacist issued 6 months prescription at no charge. I was sent to the pharmacy by the GP who seemingly refuse to prescribe them now as they’re too busy

Wouldthisbotheryoutoo · 24/06/2025 22:47

Ok thanks will try boots first

Tesco and Boots (and Superdrug online pharmacy) all do Hana (the mini pill) over the counter with no prescription with very little hassle. I've been on it for over 18 months and never been to the GP. So easy. By contrast, I went to a little indie pharmacy when I last ran out and asked for it, and the pharmacy assistant acted like I'd grown a second head so some places don't do it.

Yes you can, I get my pill from the pharmacy. Pop in whenever, fill in a health questionnaire, get blood pressure checked, get 12 months supply. Easy peasy.
