Sports suggestions for 10 y/o

Morning all!

I am keen to help get DD10 into a new sport, but I need some suggestions please as to what would be good. I can then put these to her in the hope that at least one takes get fancy to try out.

She already does dance, but I am looking for a more cardio sport that can help keep her fit and exercised as she moves into tweenage years.

The problem we’ve had so far is that she is happy to do training, but doesn’t like playing in matches.

It also needs to be something with a set class, as without that she’s likely to try and get out of it on the day (even though she enjoys it while she’s there) - you know like a park run or something - come Sunday morning she would just say she couldn’t be bothered.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Ours love CrossFit. Our gym does teen and kid classes. You work in a class and get the benefit of the community but it’s also all individual as you just work at the level you’re at. There are CrossFit comps but most people don’t do the comps.

Our gym is very hot on form and keeping injury free and it’s worked amazingly for me as middle aged overweight woman with significant health issues.

My 9-year old DD loves karate, would martial arts be an option? If you’re looking for a cardio focus, swimming or athletics? Or horse riding.

Kayaking and climbing are non competitive.

Hockey, rowing and volleyball are other sports my dc enjoy playing.

Swimming and athletics we’ve done, although I would like her to get back into that really as it’s great for cardio and she can already swim well.
I’ve just suggested some of these to her. Climbing she seemed to like the idea of the most. I think I’m going to look into CrossFit as well, I think that could be good.
Thank you!

One of us loves bouldering. It’s climbing but you don’t need ropes etc. he’s naturally gotd at it and the rest of us are not which adds to his enjoyment 😂
