Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, with the window flung open while the cats are upstairs. The washer's on already for the towels & the first load will be done shortly to go out in the wind.

Dd2's awake, although still in bed. She'll probably come down for breakfast shortly then head back up to do Sunday's bedroom tidy & carry on revising for her Chemistry and Spanish mock GCSE's.

Dd1 was out out last night, got in at 2:30am. I sent her to bed about half an hour later after several LOUD trips to the bathroom and downstairs. I think she was up at some point to be sick so not expecting to see her for hours yet, although she did say she'd be up for a walk to Lidl this morning - we'll see!

The only thing really planned for the day is the walk to Lidl for fruit for my breakfasts during the week - considering frozen raspberries though, they never seem to last no matter where they're from.

I'll do some painting, laminating, and finish taking up a pair of trousers too. Goodness knows why, but I only altered one leg & I want to wear them this week 🙈. I might play with my new pyrography tool too - or at least watch some "how to" videos as the instructions are rubbish!

I'm roasting a chicken for tea tonight. We'll have it with wraps and salad I think, maybe some baby roast potatoes.

Dd1 is AWAKE! Earlier than a normal day 🤣.

Anyway...after tea it's our usual Sunday early showers, although the girls are off tomorrow. Mine will be my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, followed by moisturiser, tan, toe nails painted, and new press ons on my fingernails. Then an hour with my book or a cookbook - not sure which yet. I have a nice marshmallow & meringue one I haven't looked at yet 🤔.

I'm on holiday. I bummed around most of the morning. Walked to the lake for a swim then lay under a tree to dry off and read a couple of chapters of my book. Went back to the cottage and made a Mumsnet massive salad and lit the barbecue. Now I'm cooking some thinly sliced chicken breast and sausages and drinking a beer.

I'm currently sitting on the sofa with my book. I've had a bit of a tidy round and then went out for a litterpick. It must have been more energetic than I thought because I ended up having a diabetic hypo 🙄. I'm planning a sewing afternoon, I've got trousers to turn up and cushion covers to finish making.

DH is cleaning the car and then he's making lunch - sausage casserole.

I was up early to walk the hound in the woods, followed by a sneaky McDonald’s breakfast.
habe made my sons sandwiches for the week (frozen half of them) to try & make packed lunch life a little easier. Made biscuits with him as well to take in with them. Done a bit of housework now sat in the garden with the dog & a cup of tea waiting for the first festival band to start up to listen too. Which could be the position for the rest of the day- swapping out tea for rum later on tonight with pizza & garlic bread.

Happy Sunday all. It's absolutely pouring down here and DH is on call - there's always more call outs in bad weather. Washing machine and dishwasher are on and Greek chicken is marinating for dinner. I had a Turkish lesson earlier which was fun but soooo tough! Hopefully we'll still be able to go there on our holiday there in 2 weeks 🙄. I'm going to do some admin now then I'll be busy trying to take my mind off the horrible and worrying hospital appointment I have tomorrow. So some language study, some sewing and some telly is on the cards, I think. Have a good day, everyone.

Happy Sunday all! I’m being very lazy, lying on the bed with a coffee and enjoying the breeze through the window at last!

Today I need to have a clean through and go to the gym. Not sure what order yet, will decide after another coffee!

Bike practice with my son, swimming lesson and cinema, looking forward to the film , but those reclining chairs make me sleepy, hopefully I’ll stay awake!

Good afternoon! Just found you all….
I was up at 5.30 walking the dogs, thankfully it’s considerably cooler here today than yesterday (31° and so muggy) and we’ve had a quick shower or too.
I did a quick tidy around then spent an hour or so doing some more drawing before the bloody clay pigeon shoot started up on the airfield, at which point zDog1 was terrified so she and I have been sitting on the floor watching crap tv.
There’s beef in the slow cooker and the vegetables are prepared.
i’ll go back down to my shed when the shooting stops, ZDog2 will come with me, ZDog2 will pinch my chair where I’m currently sitting.
DH is snoozing after a very busy morning not , doing nothing!
Will walk the dogs again later if it’s cool enough.

Well, not quite as productive as I had planned but we went to Lidl, I cleaned out the fridge, then went for a nap. I'll laminate & hem the trousers while tea cooks.

I have managed to get everything sorted! so will be going away for a month and my lovely neighbour will feed the cat for the days DS is away.
