Anyone Been To The Latest Starlight Express in London?

Would love to go with DD16 but not sure of where would be best to sit (we could afford the tickets around £100). Wondering what the view is like in different price areas? Obviously it’s a very visual show.

Yes we've been twice and we really liked our seats - we picked the same area when we went again. We were in Platform 2 section on Row G. We had the seat on the end of the row and the kids got high fives from the cast.

It's not as good as I remember it being when it was in London in the 90s but the kids absolutely loved it (hence going a second time with grandma!)

Anyone else?

It’s like an acid trip.

we were sat in the raked section towards the centre and about a third of the way up. Was glad to be out of the way but it was still manic!

Yes. Got seats towards the back (think it was in the S row in the middle) but the view looks to be v good everywhere. I would not have wanted to be too close to the stage or to the track - I am sure this doesn't happen very often, but a skater did fall onto a person sitting close to the stage, in the top tier price seats - there were 2 points when audience members were taken out of the theatre feeling unwell, that being one of them, although I think they were ok. If this happens, you have to be accompanied for safety reasons before being able to leave any seat rather than just make your own way.

Very clever but lots of lasers, very loud, and the race action detracts really from the screens that report the race action each side of the stage, so your attention isn't especially on live theatre.

We loved it and found the cheapest seats amazing as you can see everything. its a small theatre, and if you are in the front, some of the action is behind you.

We were in the seats closest to the front, on the left. Loved being right in the centre of the action! The ones right in the centre are the same price though and if we were to go again I'd chose those as some of the best songs start focused on the centre so we were seeing them from the side. Loved every minute of it!

We absolutely loved being at the front of one of the locomotive sections, my son and I will remember it forever. It felt like we were part of it, and I’ve heard many people say the same about a range of other seats, so maybe there’s no bad view.

Pashazade · 22/06/2025 08:37

All the seats are good as it’s a purpose made arena. I agree not as good as the original, but I saw it as a kid so I think that has an impact! Still a good night out.

rose69 · 22/06/2025 09:07

You can usually find an offer for this one. I think a cheaper seat would be fine not a big theatre.

RabbitsRock · 22/06/2025 09:10

Thanks everyone. I didn’t see the original show so I guess that’s a good thing.

It’s currently kid month or whatever it’s called where loads of tickets are free June-September.
so check first as its age 17 and under - you might get them much cheaper

scissy · 22/06/2025 09:20

We were in one of the "middle" locamotive sections - so not right at the front, but close to the action. The advantage of these seats is that you get to see all the songs/action, the only things you don't see are song of the skaters whizzing behind you!

Although as others have said you are rather trapped in there once seated.
