There's a chance I might get 3 offers, WWYD?

I get that this is a nice problem to have so here it goes:

Company A - start-up, £65k + 15% bonus it's technically remote, but have made noise about it being hybrid (which I can't commit to, and they now it). Contract signed.

Company B - Big Tech, salary unknown as they changed the role half way through, and up to today I have no clue what this final role is. I've queried and so far I've had crickets. Fully remote. Previous role I was interviewing for was £80k + bonus

Company C - Big Tech, £62-£82k (base) + 20% bonus. I assume I would get at the very least £70k based on experience. Fully remote.

Company B apparently liked me so much that they fast tracked me to a final stage next week.

Company C is hiring for a niche role (which is how I got the interview with Company B), so I think my chances are high.

Company B sound like they don't actually know what they want, could be a bit of a red flag. I'd expect that level of uncertainty and 'make the role up' in a start up not big tech.

Company C sounds best (presuming you are happy WFH)

What does the contract you've signed with company A actually say about remote/ hybrid working?

C

I preferably need to WFH as I'm 6 hours away from London :)

The contract for Company A is super vague, and lists me as hybrid/London. I queried and I was told my role is definitely remote, but that the contract is standard across the board.

You said contract signed for A - do you mean you're considering trying to back out of that for B or C? Sorry if I'm being dense here!

Throwingitallaway24 · 19/06/2025 16:22

C.

B sounds wishy washy and if they're like this now then god knows what it'll be like in post.

If your contract for A says hybrid then that's what it says and if they start making noise about you coming to London however many times a week or a month then you've not really got a leg to stand on.

Correct, but I'm still unsure. I haven't started yet, but I reckon I won't have an answer until past my start date.

I wouldn't go near this - if you have a contract that says you're London/hybrid, they are at liberty to rely on it to ask you to come in. If the role is remote I would want the contract to say so. If they don't want to change it that means they want to be able to call you in. There's nothing wrong with that in principle but the contract says what it says and no "in practice it will be remote" comments would reassure me in the absence of an amendment.

I've got it in writing i.e. email, but I know that's definitely not bulletproof.
