I wonder how long does the cough last? Any way to make it easier? Is a raised bed preferable?

Mine lasted 5 months. Nothing helped. Sorry.
But it did clear up completely in the end.

I had what I believe to be whooping cough last summer. It’s called the 100 day cough and that was about right for me. Had it May to August - which was pretty miserable.
If you suspect you’ve got it go to a doctors because they can give antibiotics, but only in the first three weeks.
Pillows can help a bit, but I found I coughed whatever position I was in

They call it, colloquially "The 100 Day Cough".

It's a notifiable disease in the UK.

Antibiotics if caught early enough may help.

A lor of adults with it do not have the "Whoop", just a bad cough.

One of the characteristics of Whooping Cough is that the cough can often cause vomiting.

Hope it gets better sooner rather than later.

Are you fully vaccinated?
Not that it's that relevant, as Whooping Cough can occur, often in fully vaccinated individuals.

I had it when pregnant and was still coughing when I gave birth 4.5 months later. That was nearly 25 years ago, and I still find that whenever I get a virus which involves a cough, I cough far more and for far longer than I did pre-WC.
