Brain fog/memory loss during period

Posted here as well as Health topic.

Not every month, but I’ve had incidences of brain fog for a few hours and it always seems to happen during my period. I text people then forget I have, feel generally not with it and can’t remember what I’ve just done, then it passes. I had similar years ago when I had Covid the first time. When it happened last year I went to the GP who sent me to the stroke clinic but that was ruled out. I’ve read it could be a pre-migraine symptom which makes sense as I sometimes get funny vision/aura but I don’t then get the pain of a migraine.
Has anyone experienced similar?

I would ask for blood tests as a reasonable starting point then make sure you get the results printed out to look at them yourself so you can look for things that are low but in range for example. The results should say on them what the target range is.

I had blood tests when I was sent to the stroke clinic and everything was in normal range.

You do have to be careful that you are not told everything is fine/normal when something is very low but in range. Some countries have different acceptable ranges I believe. Any chance you can get hold of the blood test results?

Yes I have the results on my app. What is it in particular should I be checking, could it be a sign of do you think @Winter2020 ? Thanks x

I guess I was wondering about B12 as a starting point.

But only really thinking checking bloods is a good starting point to just rule out deficiencies.

The blood test print out gives the ranges so if a range was say 80-300 for something (totally made up numbers) and your reading was 82 it would be worth discussing supplementation with your doctor.

I’ll have a closer look, thank you.
The fact is that it’s always during my period makes me think it’s hormonal though.
