Would ear plugs help?

We moved to a gorgeous area two years ago, backing on to a kind of nature reserve. Heaven.

Except, at this time of year, the dawn chorus begins at 3:58. It’s so loud, every day, and I’m a ridiculously light sleeper, so I’m broken. We already have blackout curtains so it’s not the sun waking me but the birds. This morning there was also a Bee sounding like a phone stuck on vibrate.

My partner likes the window open and to be honest I like the fresh air too… but the noise! 😫

Would something like Loop earplugs help? I am worried about things like not being able to hear the smoke alarm if it went off (although there was a fire down the road recently and I woke up at the slight smell of smoke) or if the dog came up and wanted to go out.

I've recently bought Loop Switch for annoying noises and I love them, but I'm contemplating sleep Loops for the exact same thing. And also worried about smoke alarm (single parent) but realistically they dull noise rather than block it completely.

Interested to know if others have them.

You would hear a smoke alarm through loops (and wax earplugs which block much more sound). I’ve been clubbing in wax plugs. You can hear plenty and smoke alarms are really loud.

Ordered some loops which came today, and just in time as next door have a little dog visiting which they let out to bark at 6am!

I’m in heaven in my Loops! I can hear the dog and if my partner happens to say something, but I am no longer being woken by birds! ❤️
