Nursery put toilet-trained DD in nappies

DD is 2.5, been toilet trained for two months now. She said no more nappies and she was trained within a couple of days. She has had only a handful of accidents at home and is also dry overnight.

She seems to have more accidents a nursery, maybe once per week. I found out incidentally that they were still putting her in nappies for nap time, so I asked them not to and told them she was dry for naps and overnight at home. I thought maybe this was confusing and contributed to the accidents there.

Today I collected her and was told her clothes had gotten wet whilst she was at the water table, and she didn’t have any extra pants so they put her in pull-ups and she seemed to like weeing in the pull-up. When we got home I saw she was in a regular nappy and changed. I also checked her bag and she did have two full sets of clean, dry clothes (including pants). It was one of her regular caretakers who told me about the nappies so I would think she would have been more careful in checking for clean pants?

Would you discuss this with them? I feel a bit annoyed that they keep putting her in nappies, and I reckon it must be confusing for DD?

Yes absolutely speak to them. She's doing really well, the odd accident is to be expected and she had spares. Zero need for a nappy.

Thank you, yes that’s what I thought? Also annoyed that they didn’t seem to check her bag better for the pants. It’s a small toddler backpack, they got the other clothes (leggings and a t-shirt) out, I don’t know how they missed the pants that were obviously there 🤨

Yanbu, thats a lazy nursery who can't be bothered with a younger trained child who might need help with wiping and prompting to go regularly so are trying to pop her in a nappy when it suits them not to think about it/have her in the same routine as others.

I'd be really cross. Its gross to put a toilet trained child in a nappy.

It doesn't sound that honest to me. If they couldn't find pants, they could have just put her in leggings or her damp pants might have been ok if they weren't soaked through. It sounds like they don't want to deal with the accidents.
