What proportion of the stuff in your house could you get rid of that would have no impact on your life whatsoever?

For me, I reckon I could do away with about 90% of the stuff that's cluttering up my house and I wouldn't miss any of it!

We have too much stuff! Some of it accumulated by us over 40+ years of marriage (almost 40 of them in our current house, so we haven't had to have a good clear out for decades). Some of it is from my parents' house and some from DH's parents (all parents passed away a few years back).

I keep chucking stuff out, but the clutter never seems to get any less!

I can't bear clutter. I constantly declutter and only keep it until I fall out of love with it. Including men (lighthearted) 😅

I would say I’m very good at decluttering. I do it regularly and enjoy the process.

Yet still, we’re moving house and have put most of our stuff into storage. Literally every thing that has gone into storage, I haven’t needed or missed. There are some things which we need infrequently that I can’t justify getting rid of, but I’m considering being absolutely ruthless with most of what I allow into the house after moving.

A marvellous idea! I reckon I could box up the vast majority of what's in my house and never notice it had gone.

I'm with you on the 90%, unfortunately very little of it is mine - I live with hoarders and they won't let me get rid of stuff. I find the clutter of our house really oppressive. Sometimes I dream of just walking away and starting again in a little place with the bare minimum.
