Has anyone with a very heavy shedding dog got a robotic hoover?

I have 2 pugs and the hair is insane.

I was thinking about a robotic hoover to keep on top of the constant hair (yes they do get brushed but if you have pugs, you know!) But DH said the hoover would constantly get clogged?

I’ve got a pug and a chihuahua. I drown in bloody mutt hair. Watching this!

I have a chihuahua too but she doesn't shed much compared to the pugs!

We’ve got a lab cross who sheds black hair everywhere, I wouldn’t be without the robot hoover/mop. We have a Roborock S7 Max Ultra, it maps the floor plan of the house & you can then tell it where to clean. I set it off each morning to do the living room & kitchen while I walk the dog & it really helps keep on top of hair & dirt.

It has a docking station that it empties into, so is pretty low maintenance.

Yes! Get one! I use my Eufy twice a day, it does it’s job whilst we are walking the dog then we come home, empty it, I tell it I love it and send it back to it’s charging station for some well needed R&R. Wouldn’t be without one.
I do give the house a thorough vacuum once a week but Eufy looks after the daily quick vacuuming over.

I have a Eufy, a cat and a Staffy! The Staffy loves rolling on the carpet to give her back a good itch, the cat them rolls where the dog has rolled, both are white, I set Eufy off once a day and it keeps on top of it, he’s fabulous.

Absolutely get a robot vacuum. You clean the filter regularly and I find the little roller can get lots of hair caught in it - but i just give it a good clean and get the hair off every now and again (and it's more DD's long thick curly hair that's the problem!).

It's also brilliant if you have hard floors - I find with the regular hoover, often the act of vacuuming makes the hair fly around so you do the vacuum, then you leave th eroom and the hair all settles to the ground. The robot vac just sort of sneaks up on it so actually does a better job!

Yes all downstairs is hard floors, the hairs just accumulate daily into balls!

We had two massive double coated shepherd mixes and got a robot vacuum we named Fabio. He did a magnificent job for all of 9 months when the mountains of hair just took him down, bless him.
It became a constant arse ache to take his sweepers apart, pull all the clogged hair out and then put him back together so we allowed him his dignified death and didn’t get another.
My sister has one for her lab and it does a good job with the fine hair, but the long hair just killed it quickly.

I've also got a heavy shedding lab cross and I think you might have just convinced me that I need one of these!

Bassett hound here, we use one to keep it at bay every other day. Doesn't remove the need to hover properly once a week tho

This is interesting. One of the things I love about the robovac (mine is a Eufy) is that the process of cleaning the filters etc is so much easier than any traditional vacuum. So yes, I have to remove the roller thing and give it a clean up fairly regularly, but it's not difficult to do at all. It just pops out, I pull the hair out and cut the bits that get caught at the ends, and pop it back in. I wonder if some are easier than others?

Yes. Two husky crosses and a long haired cat. All moulting all year round.

Eufy robovacs, any of them, all brilliant.
