Irrationally fuming with M&S food store

Just let me vent....
Yesterday (the 9th June) I was driving near an M&S food store. Popped in for salad stuff. Stunned myself at my strong will to not buy biscuits or chocolate.

Did buy my DS2 one of their big veg samosas. It's dairy-free and it's not always easy getting dairy-free treats. And DS2 is in GCSE hell and all treats welcome.

DS2 was at home before afternoon exam. Asked me of the veg samosa was OK to eat.... the use by date was the 7th June.

I'm a bloody idiot of not checking the date (I am usually meticulous on this) and M&S are bloody idiots for having stuff in their fridges 2 days out of date.

Rant Rant RANT.

I worked in Marks 20 years ago and towards the end of every day, someone would go through the dates on at least all the fresh items. A second person would then follow behind, checking.

Mildly annoying but perfectly edible and hardly the biggest deal ever.

Take a photo and they will refund you and give you a small vooucher for your inconvenience

M&S seem to always have short dated stock in the food hall, I always have to look carefully at the dates. I’ve only rarely seen anything actually out of date, but plenty of on-the-day dates.

I bought some posh milk bread rolls on Sunday. Didn’t realise until this morning that they went out of date on Sunday.

if I’d have known I wouldn’t have bought them.

Well I feel better for a rant.

But not letting DS eat it - he has gastric issues and doing GCSE's. Overthinking/over-cautious/over-anxious... I'd rather not take a risk on something 3 days out of date and cause a bit of icky tum/bum

Did once see chicken in the fridge section of our local little Tesco that was actually iridescent green and 4 days out of date. I gave it to.the sales assistant who nearly vommed and made me bag it up so she couldn't see it.

I found loads of fathers day tins of biscuits a month out of date the other day.
