What jobs work around school hours?

Hi, I am just wondering how others do it...I used to be in full time work but took a while out to raise children, and am now a lone parent with young school-age children.

What jobs do you have that work around childcare? I don't have any help nearby and need to work between school hours, so my previous industry is a definite no. I'm open to entry level jobs, anything - but does this exist?

Another one who says it’s about the attitude of the company and the manager - in exactly the same job for years and I’ve had companies where travel and/or ft work was mandatory ‘for the job’, ranging to a job where I had super flex on hours and wfh.

Development manager in retirement. Many are part time and the hours can be negotiated.

Bank work for example in social care.

Housekeeper? Certainly in London and the south east it can be really hard to find someone. I'd bite the hand off of anyone offering to do 5 hours a day of housekeeping for me, but I imagine that's quite area dependent.

I work in pupil support in a school. Its term time hours and my head teacher is flexible so I work 9.15-2.30pm. Means I can drop the kids at school at 8.45/8.50 then be back in time to pick them up at 3pm. The only downside is that Im not usually available for things like sports days/school shows/term time events but can sometimes jiggle things about a little bit to make it work.

I’m a civil servant, 2 days from home/ 3 in office. with flexi time, so can start any time between 7 and 10 and finish between 2 and 7 (I just have to balance my hours to my contract by the end of the month).
i couldn’t go back to any other work now

Set up your own cleaning business and choose your own hours?

I have a trade and am self-employed. I only book work during school hours and term time.

After school club and making friends with other parents so you help each other out with pick ups and play dates.

The above will allow much more choice in the jobs you apply for.

I work for the local council which allows wfh if needed and flexible hours which means i can slip out to drop kids off, pick them up and carry on working from home :) alot of people give people stick for wfh jobs but honestly I am not sure what i would do otherwise with the very little support system i have.
