Just after a bit of friendly advice!

2 young children, full on job (senior manager in a big 4).

How the fuck do i get stuff done? I feel like I’m constantly chasing my tail.

Any tips? I already have a cleaner.

Little & often. Unpack/pack the dishwasher & wipe down the sides while the kettle boils or bread toasts. I put away clothes while DC do bedtime wee & teeth (but mine are bigger so don't need so much supervision) etc.

Similar - GP partner, full on, 3 kids under 10. As soon as I get wind of an event coming up - dress up/kids party/sports fixture, it goes in diary, costume is ordered/present and card ordered.
School newsletter read when it comes out and dates added to diary.
Weekly online food shop with a 4 weekly menu on repeat.
Washing goes on at least once a day.
Childcare sharing over school holidays (exhausting but kids enjoy, not confined to holiday club times and cheaper), basically on my day off I’ll take in another mum’s kids and she reciprocates for mine.
Leftovers and double batches made and frozen for work lunches.
Husband very good but needs instructions so crap with mental load carrying but can be relied on to do stuff (i do all kids admin he does all utilities/wills/finances)
Constantly cleaning and tidying - if I see a smear/crumb/dirty surface, it’s just sorted there and then to stop the whole house becoming a shit hole.

solidarity, life is exhausting right now!

COO 👸😄

Micro jobs all the time, don’t put it down put it away, constantly (when home) making little adjustments, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, just tiny things very regularly.
Do anything that needs doing straight away, pay for a trip, sort a costume etc, lots of online ordering.

It’s also very useful that DH is excellent and does more than 50/50

Routine and relax about standards.

By this I mean everything has a place, Sunday is spent dinner prepping for the week and getting all outfits sorted. Simple wardrobes for all of you but enough for lots of spares when needed.

Fully stocked first aid kit and always have Calpol in.

Have a board and a calendar. Board shows everything for that week. Dinner, appointments etc. Calendar has EVERYTHING on it long term. Buy a tippex pen for it.

Letters, forms, party invites - deal with as they arrive.

Ironing? Find a pick up and delivery service.

Washing machine on every day, hung up to dry overnight.

Kitchen is cleaned as soon as dinner is done, dishwasher on and packed lunches made.

Always have a stock of birthday cards and Lego gift sets for parties.

Use Amazon Prime and shopping delivery services.

Don’t expect much of a life, just getting back to Sunday is a win. Find a good local babysitter if you can, it can come in handy.

Oh and breathe 🤣
