Bloody rain!

I’ve pegged 2 loads out. Weather app says rain around 35% at 12, sunny and blowing outside as I pegged away.
App now says 100% rain at 10 ffs!!!

Need to cut the grass too.

The paddling pool is almost half full with rain water. I emptied it to clean it about 10 days ago, that’s how much it’s rained.

School uniforms and clothes for the week on the line, not going to get it dry now!

Warm countries don’t know how lucky they are when it comes to drying washing do they!?

We just tumble dry everything. I can't be arsed with wasting my time bringing damp washing in and out the whole time.

I just use my airer as it’s not worth the effort hanging it outside. We’ve had 3/4 weeks of rain.

Same. Absolutely cannot be arsed with it, the whole lot goes in the dryer.

I live in Ireland. The weather is always fucking miserable. I went out yesterday in a winter coat. I moved home after many years in SW England where we actually had a summer, of sorts, and sometimes regret it for this reason.

It’s just beyond our budget, electricity is through the roof with the tumble dryer.

Poor little ds has a footy tournament today so is going to get drenched. It’s rubbish and unreliable for any form of outdoor planning in the U.K.

SE UK corner,10 minutes from the coast. Driest spring since records began 1898, got solar so doing the washing today. Had a couple of showers Friday night. Local farmers are really worried..sun night be nice in hot countries to dry the washing, but it comes at a cost. Wildfires, no green and pleasant land. I'm on clay, we're watering twice a day, I actually got a pick axe out yesterday to do some planting. 5 miles away a friend got rain!

We moved in Feb and the new house doesn't have a tumble dryer, and no space for one. So far we haven't had a week where I've struggled to get all the laundry done when it's been needed so I guess we've been lucky with the weather. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we have a dryish winter though!

HostaCentral · 08/06/2025 09:39

This week is the first all Spring that I've had to use the tumble. We've had 6 weeks without rain. Thank god we finally got some!

Just ran out to get it all in again, I’m drenched.

On the plus side, my lawn is SO lush & green, it’s lovely!

Drop of summer rain is wonderful. It brings the worms up to the surface for baby birds to be fed. Think of the animals,(not your line drying) who finally got a drink of water. A good reason to always have a large plant saucer of fresh water for them.
As it's Sunday, here endeth the lesson for today.

South coast- dry for weeks, but very windy. Wet and windy for the last ten days. My poor roses are now windblown and drenched. Some branches of the trees we planted have been broken. It’s 14 degrees. I would like warm balmy days with a gentle breeze. I don’t mind if it rains at night though.

I did washing yesterday , anything that can’t be tumble dried was hung on a rail by the French doors in my kitchen and it’s all dry today and the weather was absolutely terrible here yesterday .
