My Sister has got a pip assessment in 2 weeks.
She wants ne to talk for her as she gets overwhelmed and distressed.
Would the assessor's allow me to talk for her?

Unlikely, If you are her appointee, then yes (I am my adult son's appointee and can talk for him when needed) but if not she will be expected to speak for herself. I think you can accompany her though and hopefully they will be kind.

I accompanied someone to a PIP assessment. We have history and I was well aware of their difficulties. I didn’t speak for them, but was able to prompt them in a couple of instances when I knew they might not have understood the question or had lost their thread in responding. I was also able to either support their responses to a couple of questions, or offer supplementary information that they hadn’t thought to include.

Before the interview I sat with them and went through the different topics they are scored on and discussed with them the level of their difficulties and why the reasons for that might be.

The assessor was lovely, and had a positive attitude dealing with the interview. We don’t know the outcome yet.
