What to do with excess nappies?

Hi,
we have a fair amount of nappies/nappy pants leftover from our DD. She's now potty trained and dry at night, so doesn't need them.

Most of the packs are open, so I can't give them to a food bank or somewhere that might need them like that. I am just not sure where would be the best place. All of our friends have kids the same age so at similar stages and won't need them.

Hopefully there's a simple solution that I'm just missing!
many thanks

Free on a Facebook group or the olio app

Is she at a nursery or childminder ? I would donate them

Why can't you give them to a food bank, have they said no?

I'd take them to a children's centre x

My nursery wouldn't take them unless the pack was unopened. Where I live you often see people giving them away on facebook giveaway groups, or people leave them in public toilets, e.g. in supermarkets, for others to use. Also, kids are dry at night at different ages, so you can probably give the night-time nappy pants to a friend with kids the same age - that's what I did, as many of DS1's friends are still in night nappies.

Yes to food bank, ours at least gives away open packs but also leave them in the toilets for use

nongnangning · 05/06/2025 15:45

Put them on Olio.

Doesn't matter if they're opened as long as you take a photo showing that the remaining nappies are not used.
They will go in a flash believe me

wlinewbie0425 · 05/06/2025 15:47

Gave away ours on a local parents Facebook group. Had multiple offers to collect within minutes.

Weclomehome · 05/06/2025 15:47

My DD's nursery took our leftover ones.

BertieBotts · 05/06/2025 15:47

I would ask around friends and pass them on to someone with a younger sibling. When they got dry at night I asked people if they would use them for nights and someone took them off my hands. Not all children are dry at the same ages, so unless she's much older than the average, usually someone will still have a use for them.

BertieBotts · 05/06/2025 15:48

And even if you don't want to give them to nursery directly, you could ask in a nursery whatsapp group, as some parents will have younger children.

minipie · 05/06/2025 15:49

Any baby banks near you? The one near me takes open packets.

DaisyChain505 · 05/06/2025 15:50

Food bank, local women’s refuge, local charities.

ThisAmberShark · 05/06/2025 15:51

Local family centre were happy to have some of ours

Wolowl · 05/06/2025 15:55

Thank you! I will have a more thorough search and see what I can find, they definite should go somewhere where they'll be used.

We must have a baby bank or similar round here somewhere & I will ask the children's centre.
thank you!

I gave all mine to my health visitor when I had leftovers if ds sized up. She was able to give them out directly to the people she felt would have benefited most?
