Any ideas greatly welcomed, I am possibly up there with the least ‘with it’ mum ever and have no idea what films to download. My dd is being equally unhelpful for choices and it’s tomorrow!

Can anyone help? Dd is a ‘girly girl’ as are her friends. Preferably want to keep it reasonably up beat as well. TIA

I assume a 12A is ok if so Mean Girls/Clueless/Legally Blonde might work

These are all big favourites with my 13 year old daughter (and me!). Enola Holmes is also great.

Yep, I agree. Me and my 12 year love watching these kinds of films together

Whatanoddthingtosay · 29/05/2025 16:20

13 Going on 30
Ten Things I Hate About You
Jurassic World

If all else fails, Twilight!

redtrainmuddle · 29/05/2025 16:20

Agree Clueless, Mean Girls, Legally Blonde. But also Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead is a firm favourite with my 12 year old at the moment (you can buy it on Amazon prime). 13 Going On 30 is good as well! Wicked or Barbie are still much loved here too!

minnienono · 29/05/2025 16:25

When my dd was that age I put on Hidden Figures, they really enjoyed it and got great feedback from the parents too

RowanMayfaire · 29/05/2025 16:26

Romy & Michelle's' High School Reunion? A little bit crude at points but nothing wild, if I remember correctly.

When I was young there was a movie called "Now and Then" that I loved. I wonder if the young 'uns would enjoy that these days?

My daughter at 12 was watching movies like Lost Boys, The Labyrinth, The Breakfast Club etc. Classics are classics for a reason. Perhaps not 12A ratings but I was never too hung up about that. I understand it's a different thing with other peoples kids though!

GingerLiberalFeminist · 29/05/2025 16:28

I'm from a different generation - we used to watch Willow (😍) but 10 things I hate about you would work too!

All the above plus: Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

WFHmutha25 · 29/05/2025 17:15

Are you there god, it's me Margaret?Wonderful!

WFHmutha25 · 29/05/2025 17:16

Our film from age 10 was Dirty Dancing!

MissKittyFantastico84 · 29/05/2025 17:16

Yes to Romy and Michelle! Some of the tone might be lost on them though - it's a stone cold classic.

How about:

She's All That
Josie and The Pussycats
Never Been Kissed
The Addams Family for a slightly different twist!
Bring It On (iconic)
Get Over It (also Kirsten Dunst, also excellent)

I now need to watch all of these.

MissKittyFantastico84 · 29/05/2025 17:18

And Centre Stage if she loves ballet!!!

CruCru · 29/05/2025 17:30

My daughter loves The Devil wears Prada.
