School shoes for girls

Why shoes has ypur dd got which are relatively long lasting?
last term we went through x2 pairs of shoes which is ridiculous! Realistically we’re wanting a durable shoe that should last x2 terms (school shoes worn x4 times a week and the walk to school is 10mins each way)

she prefers a girly shoe preferably a Mary Jane type shoe but is open to t-bar.

we’ve had:
Clark’s (firm favourite)
start right (can’t find any she likes)
kickers (dd finds these too bulky)
walk right (utter crap)
Shoe zone (more functional in winter months as trainer style)

Ricosta here. Toes are a bit scuffed, but a touch up with nail varnish (patent leather) works wonders.

I think girls shoes are not made to last - mine will only wear ballet style ones and it seems every time it rains they fall apart. Have not tried more expensive pairs but so far have gone through a lot of Shoe Zone ones and also Primark have not done much better. She is currently in a canvas pair from Asda which i expect to die any day now. I am curious if buying more expensive pairs is worth it - do you get more wear from them?

My daughter mostly has startrite. They fit her well and last a year unless she outgrows them.

They look good but they do seem to have any basic ballet flats without straps.

I don't think ballet flats are very good for their feet so places like Startrite won't sell them. Most secondaries don't allow them for health and safety reasons.

My DD had doc martens from P3, they always lasted the year and were handed on to younger kids when she outgrew them. Shes now had pairs for 2/3 years that still look great.

Clarks have always been the best for us. She's had her current ones since September and they still look great apart from the toes are a bit scuffed, can't believe how sturdy they've been.

Probably better for her feet than the heels I used to wear to school! A lot of the girls at her school wear them so am sure they are allowed.

DMs for my daughter. They last and are beyond fashion.

Dd wears doc martens. The patent has scuffed a bit but it’s nearly the end of term. They’ve lasted the full year. Previously dms have never scuffed.

clarks are rubbish quality and I would never ever buy them again.
