How much feedback is welcome/ do you give after a hotel stay?

We have recently stayed at a lovely independent hotel / restaurant and while generally it was all great there were a few little touches that I really think would have elevated our experience.
I have written private feedback which has been asked for but I’m not sure if I sound like I think I’m the hotel inspector (love a bit of Alex Torizzi)and I wondered what other people do this or if anyone works in a hotel/ restaurant how welcome this is ?

For context I was just suggesting using table linen, candles and fresh flowers would really emphasise their fine dining offering in their very traditional country house restaurant setting and would be more in keeping with the pricing.
I also said the menu presentation could be updated from those old padded menu folders that make a noise when you pull the plastic pages over to turn 🥴.
It was all just a bit too fausty and would benefit from fresh updates.

I absolutely hate table cloths - really hate them.

To be honest I think your feedback was a bit 'hotel inspector'

Table linen laundering, weekly fresh flowers and new menus combined would be pricey. It would put me off a place too as I'd feel it was a bit 'posh' for me.

I know it’s faff for them but the tables were 90’s style cafe tables and they did not match the room at all, it was expensive and we chose not to eat there more than once because it didn’t feel special or fine enough to warrant the prices.
All feedback is subjective at the end of the day so really you could argue none of it is of value but they have asked for it.

Just to add it was ‘posh’ and that’s why we chose it as a treat for a special occasion so I’d assume other guests would enjoy the same.
I wouldn’t want or expect table linen at a modern relaxed place but this wasn’t that.
You have different expectations of Pizza Express than you would Claridges.
But really my question is more really how honest should you be or is it always a dick move , not whether everyone agrees with my position on table cloths and a stem in a vase.

Sounds like you've already made your mind up and have given the feedback anyway. Your choice.

I’ve decided not too based on if in doubt don’t
