Why? Moisturiser in eyes

I'm mid-40s and have used Simple moisturiser all over my face for years.

In the last few months, however, about three hours after putting it on, my eyes sting to the point where I can't keep them open, as if the moisturiser has run into them.

Why could this be? I've tried other moisturisers and the same thing happens.

Thanks

I have that sometimes when I’ve put moisturiser on too close to my eyes. Do you put it on your eye lids?

I do put it on my eyelids, but I always have done.

Is there a way to moisturise eyelids/under eyes without moisturiser?

Vaseline is good for your eye lid area

Does it have an spf? I became really sensitive to this near the eyes, can’t even use foundation on eyelids now.
Need to buy an eye cream/gel or use night cream.

I absolutely understand this. If it was a quicker reaction I would be able to comprehend it better, but as you say, it’s 2-3 hours later.

I have wondered if it’s because my eyelids heat up under my glasses??

Use an eye cream instead.

I’ve never put cream on my eyelids. Am I supposed to?

Have your eyelids started drooping and getting more hooded?
You might need a thicker moisturizer that holds its place, Simple is quite liquid.
