Can I sell ticketmaster concert tickets outside of ticketmaster

My daughter is autistic and wanted to go to a concert, we bought insurance but now its 24 hours before the concert and shes had, what can inly be described as a meltdown, she cannot go.

Its a lot of money. Ive listed them on ticketmaster this morning but no buyers.

You have to sell them for full price and ticketmasyer have added about 50 quid too!

Can i sell them cheaper myself? On facebook.

We do have insurance but Ive just been reading its very unlikely they will pay out :(

Depends on the promoter rules, some allow transfers sone do not. As it’s a genuine reason if the rules allow transfers, someone local to you may be able

CostcoPonder · 26/05/2025 15:02

How do I find out if transfer is available?

Are you using twickets? I thought you could sell for less just not more than face value. Dependant on the ticket you might be able to sell on Facebook but it is the buyers risk. I have never rarely had names checked on tickets ( only Taylor Swift) but it should say if you need named id. There is a Facebook site called spare tickets which often does resales

Twickets is legitimate and will let you discount the price and also accept offers.

Have a look there and see if there are tickets on offer for the event. If there are then you should be able to transfer yours.

Sorry to hear about your daughter, that's tough.

CostcoPonder · 26/05/2025 15:09

Thanks I will check Twickets.

Shes been so excited about it but shes only ever been to 2 small concerts. This is a huge one and shes not been doing well lately, mentally.

I usually take the insurance when buying concert tickets and, like your daughter, one time I couldn't attend as I was under a lot of stress. My tummy was playing up due to it and I made a claim on the basis of D&V. Didn't have to provide a doctor's note, I simply said that this wasn't possible for D&V. Got my money back the day after the gig once it was apparent the tickets hadn't been used. I hope your daughter feels better soon.

Hmm

Do you think I should just not list them and make a claim?

Forgot to say - I've sold tickets on TM for less than face value, just wanted to recoup some money instead of sucking up a full loss. Wasn't a problem.

Hecatoncheires · 26/05/2025 15:22

@CostcoPonder Only you can decide that, I wouldn't feel comfortable swaying you either way. However, I have claimed on insurance 3 or 4 times in the past few years for various reasons (I go to a lot of gigs and shows) and it's always been fine wrt claiming on insurance. I had to state the event, date, reason for missing it. Medical documentation is requested but for the last gig I simply said "a doctor's letter is not possible for D&V".

Sold them on twickets for 170. Lost about 40 quid so not too bad.
Read the reviews of ticketmaster insurance and didn't want to risk it. Seems they don't like to pay out now without a Dr letter.
