Hi,

I have family visiting from USA. Their children 14 yrs old girl & 13 yr old boy..any suggestions they’re here for 5 days. We’re based near Guildford but happy to drive.

I'm also planning on doing gift bags for them but have no idea what to buy!

I’d be so grateful for any suggestions?

Ask them what they would like to see as they are sure to have a list. Tower Bridge, the Lego store, Abbey Road for the Beatles zebra crossing, a football stadium tour, Fortnum & Mason, Buckingham Palace, ride the double decker bus (Google for best sightseeing on regular routes).
Slightly bonkers but our US guests were obsessed with Greggs - sausage rolls, bacon rolls etc.

Harry Potter studios?

We really liked the sky garden in the walkie talkie building in London, we went for breakfast there early but there is a level below that with plants and a coffie shop where you can drop in.

Uberboats are good -you just tap on and tap off, we went to The Battersea power station on it, inside it's a shopping centre now if they want a shopping day.

Brighton- Churchill square, The Lanes for hippy stuff, there's the Pavillion with a nice Cafe, The Pier and my teens love the American Diner.

Take them on the Tube, and consider merchandise related to that.

I'd take then to the Tower, to see Big Ben, to a street market, the V&A, Windsor, London Eye, Abbey Road, to see if you could do a football experience anywhere (if they're interested), take them for a fancy afternoon tea, St Paul's (all the way up to the top), the Inns of Court might be interesting and there's a Knights Templar church somewhere around there. Hyde Park, the Mall, the Palace...

My American friends favourite trip was to Stonehenge and Bath. They weren’t bothered about London.

There's an American museum in Bath near the university which you could combine with a trip to see the sights.
Trip on the Watercress/ bluebell line?( I can't remember which one but it's in Alton
