24 units of alcohol...

How bad do you think this is on a regular basis? 16 units on a Saturday evening / night (two bottles of sparkling wine) and another 8 units (one bottle) at Sunday lunchtime. A pretty regular thing.

The person (not me) ticks all healthy boxes throughout the rest of the week. Healthy food, exercise, plenty of water and no alcohol. I still think it's bad, but am I being too harsh?

Two bottles in one night is a hell of a lot. I am a drinker, I do about 1.5/2 bottles over Fri/sat/sun which is too much but I do at least stick to 6 units a night maximum. I used to drink a lot more and even then I remembered splitting three bottles between a friend and felt absolutely horrific the next day. Cannot imagine how bad two a night must make you feel.

Isn't that classed as a binge? I read something recently about people having liver damage though alcohol, and some needed transplants, at risk of death, young people, and they don't realise they were binge drinking, by having say a bottle of wine a few times a week and comparative amounts.

To me it sounds a lot but if I had more than 4 units in one evening I think I would be sick.

I know someone, only in their 40's who drinks similarly, socially but definitely would be classed as binging, and they have stomach ulcers and problems.

Because they’ve had wine with their Sunday lunch? Hmm😂

Three bottles of it over the weekend, not a little sip with their roast.
