I had samsung phones and a windows pc for about 15 years, About a year ago I went the apple way and got an iphone and a mac. Been thinking of changing back over but still not sure.

Are you an apple or android person and why?

A mixture! I have an iPhone and a Chromebook. Considering switching to android phone for the camera quality but really like the other Apple features.

BatchCookBabe · 23/05/2025 13:45

Android. Apple is far too restrictive (for me.)

spoonbillstretford · 23/05/2025 13:45

Android.

Because I used to have an iPod and using iTunes on a PC to organise music was infuriating.

Acc0untant · 23/05/2025 13:45

Android, but not Samsung.

I've had both Samsung and iPhone over the years and now I use One Plus.

Does the same thing as Apple and Samsung but at a fraction of the cost. I'll never pay galaxy or iPhone prices again.

afaloren · 23/05/2025 13:46

Apple all the way. My whole family is on Apple. I’m too deep in the ecosystem to get out now.

yeesh · 23/05/2025 13:56

iPhone all the way but I wouldn’t use a Mac if you paid me

whitewineandsun · 23/05/2025 14:03

Android. Samsung laptop and phone.

Loveduppenguin · 23/05/2025 14:03

Apple all the way!

masbat · 23/05/2025 14:04

for me I love the iphone but not getting along with the mac mini.. I seem to have nothing but issues with it so far, i figure out how to fix one thing then something else goes wrong. most of the apps i used to use on windows aren't compatible on a mac or they say 'mac version coming soon' for years!

i think keeping the iphone and getting a windows pc might cause me more issues than i have now lol

I prefer android for phone and apple for tablets. I hate the locked down nature of iPhones and want the extra freedom and customisation that android gives as I use my phone for a lot of different things.

My tablet is basically a media machine just for watching streaming shows and playing audio books and some games so the streamlined locked down nature makes it simpler to use for that.

DappledThings · 23/05/2025 14:09

Android. Never owned anything Apple. Not for any particular reason other than they were always more expensive and I wasn't interested.

WilfredsPies · 23/05/2025 14:10

Both. Or neither. At the moment, I have Apple. I prefer a tablet to a computer or phone and an iPad to an Android tablet. And I still use my iPod (Far better battery life than a phone).

I don’t really have any preferences between the phones at all, but that might be because I never bother finishing setting them up, so I don’t have an email address or Apple account/Google account and don’t do apps etc. I only use it for texts, calls and scrolling on here or you tube.

I bought my phone because I liked the colour and my iPad because there was a fantastic deal through Sky. I don’t have any preferences as far as phones go.

CeeJay81 · 23/05/2025 14:11

Android. I can't afford apple prices and even if I could, I don't see the point paying that much for a phone.

Badbadbunny · 23/05/2025 14:12

I'm a late convert to Apple for iphone, ipad etc. I used to think all the hype was a load of hot air and nonsense until I actually moved over a few years ago.

Unfortunately, still have to use Windows laptops for work as we have specialist software that won't work on Apple laptops. But if it wasn't for that, I'd be on Apple laptops too!

The difference is literally chalk and cheese between Apple and alternatives. I really didn't think it was going to be so much better, but it really is.

I actually feel a bit guilty because I always forced our DS to have Android phones when he was younger, thinking they were just the same, and there was always a little bit of disappointment in his eyes if we occasionally gave him a new phone or tablet for his birthday or Christmas when he realised it wasn't Apple! We finally relented when he was about 16 - that's when he was so excited with it and showed us what it did, how good it was, etc., which turned into a lightbulb moment for us too, and within a couple of years, we'd both converted to Apple too!

Android I have Samsung phone and Tablet which I've had years. Dh had an android phone and an I pad .

fussychica · 23/05/2025 14:20

Android. Samsung tablet because the screen is great. Motorola phone because you get a lot of bang for you buck.
DH is a mix, Apple tablet and Google phone.

Rollercoaster1920 · 23/05/2025 14:20

Both in our family. I'm very against apple for children because the adult must have an apple device to control the parental controls. Even then the apple parent controls are awful and have bugs.

Also with Google you can log in to contacts, calendar, photos etc via the web. The apple approach to that is awful.

Apple hardware is great, and their market scale means people laugh apps on that ecosystem first.

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 23/05/2025 15:02

I'm Android and PC all the way. I don't want to get locked into purchasing from one particular company. If I want an Android phone, I can choose from about about 50 different manufacturers, same if I want a new PC.

If I go Apple, then if Apple ramp their prices up I'm stuck either spending a fortune or dealing with a load of faff to change ecosystems.

Aaya · 23/05/2025 15:06

Had various macs for years for my work but I’m changing this year to a pc as just the lack of upgrade ability is pissing me off

theclampits · 23/05/2025 15:07

Apple Apple Apple 🍏 never used a MacBook or anything but I would never go back to a slow android for a phone.

ItalianChineseIndianMexican · 23/05/2025 15:08

Android. Love my Samsung!

JDM625 · 23/05/2025 15:08

Android.

DH owns/runs an IT company and everything is android. Why would anyone tie themselves into a product that you can ONLY buy things from 1 shop??? I've never understood it.

LadyLolaRuben · 23/05/2025 15:11

Samsung. Apple working seem counter intuitive

MadisonAvenue · 23/05/2025 15:12

Apple. Started off with an iPod over 20 years ago and moved on from there.

My Dad has an Android phone, a Samsung, which he struggles to use (he’s 92) and often hands it to me as soon as I walk into his house so that I can look at one thing or another for him and I could honestly throw it in the bin after five minutes.

IamSmarticus · 23/05/2025 15:14

Android all the way. Samsung phone, Acer laptop and Chrome book.
