Complained to council, now trying to move, how do I handle the Ta6 form

Hi all,
My and partner just moved into am expensive home next to a drug den - we have a 3 year old so it's particularly bothersome and scary. Police have been twice in the two months we've lived here. They scream at each other and fight in the early hours and people clearly coming to buy drugs. Just to be clear they aren't in any way interested in us and leave us totally alone.
At first I thought we would try and make it work as we love the house and the area however it's just become unbearable and annoying beyond belief. Especially when every other house on the street is nice! So I complained multiple times to the council thinking it would make a difference, obviously it hasn't and it's clear it will take years, if that, to resolve.
Anyway, now we are trying to sell, I've obviously shot myself in the foot by complaining, so how do I handle this? What do I say? Am I trapped forever in this home? How much detail am I meant to include? My partner is furious with me that I complained and have made it unlikely we will be able to sell.
Thank you for any help!

Is the house next to you council owned, privately rented or owned outright do you know? If council owned you may have more luck getting them removed as nuisance tenants but you’ll need to double down on the complaints to the council to make sure they do something about it as they are notoriously bad at leaving awful tenants in situations. Otherwise yes, you’ve hamstrung yourself really as I don’t imagine many people want to take on a house next to a drug den.

You do have to disclose any complaints made. I’m assuming you were not made aware of any being made prior to you purchasing the property?
It’s an awful situation to be in with drugs closeby and even more insulting when the council/police are powerless to do anything to help.

Sorry, to be clear you have to be transparent about how many times you called the council and what it was concerning. I believe legally your buyers can ask to see any correspondence pertaining to the cases - we had a party wall issue with a neighbour but because the dispute was for a specific thing that lasted a short amount of time and would not recur, we were happy laying bare our email chain detailing conversations with builders/ the council etc to our buyer’s solicitors.

If it’s a private rental you could try approaching the landlord - they might be on a sticky wicket if they are renting out a house used in criminal activity.

Yes, you were very naive to complain. Best option probably to sell for much less money to a 'we buy any house' type company
