Bread/Bagels/Muffins - with longer use by dates

Hi - does anyone know if there are particular brands of bread that have a longer use by date (pref 10 days/2 weeks). I like to shop less frequently and this is the item that seems be causing a bottleneck. Muffins/bagel/rolls all ok, not just sliced bread

thanks in advance!

Would it be an option to freeze a pack until the second week.

I keep bread in fridge for toast and it seems to last ages

Can you just freeze and take out the portions you need daily? The longer the best before date the more they will be brimming with preservatives. Bread is supposed to be eaten fresh.

Do you really need bread products so packed with preservatives that they’ll last an unnaturally long time? Is popping to the shops or even placing a food delivery order really that much of a big deal?

I find sourdough bread lasts much longer - typically about 5 days.

Yes freeze. I freeze homebaked goods all the time, so have ones with no preservatives handy at any time

Rye bread lasts for ages and ages on the counter top. Or just freeze and take out as needed.

Tbh we just buy fresh and once it's done it's done or we don't buy it of we think we won't use it in time. Find other alternatives

We don’t eat much bread. I keep it in the freezer and bring out a couple of slices at a time when needed.

A food order generally has to be over £25, often £40, so not really practical if you only need a loaf of bread.

Not necessarily. You can get groceries via Uber Eats & Deliveroo with no minimum order. Tesco also have their Whoosh service which is specifically for small orders.

^ I actually agree and don't even eat much bread myself.

Thanks for all those who posted. My requirement is pretty specific - partly I want to leave something out for family visiting when I am away so prefer it to be 'fresh' not frozen, and as its not a staple I am looking past the additives etc

So far muffins or bagels seem to have a longer shelf life vs sliced bread (and seems similar for own label/branded), but was hoping anyone else might have ideas... usually I can find these with perhaps 4-5 days before use by but would ideally like a week or longer

Thanks - am using Woosh sometimes but this means we end up ordering other things. I find buying online & keeping out of the shops (& impulse buy temptation) is cheaper & healthier for us

Just need to find a preservative packed white bread option to have around the house now 😁
