I'm just finishing my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, in peace and quiet. The washer's on & I've put the pots away already, I'll wash up shortly and have a tidy round down here.

We haven't really got much planned for the day, I don't think. I do want to nip to Lidl at some point for some flowers for a colleague who is leaving tomorrow, and some fruit for my breakfasts. One of the girls will have a walk with me - not sure which yet. I don't think they'll both want to, but maybe they will!

I'll list some things on Vinted through the day and hopefully get round to actually putting the (different!) pink dye I bought on my hair later on.

I've no idea what we're having for tea, no-one got anything out of the freezer last night, so I'll have a rummage shortly for something. Maybe something chickeny 🤔.

After that it'll be early ish showers all round; self-care-Sunday scrubby everything shower for me. I'll fix my toe nail polish that I smudged before going out yesterday, & maybe top up my false tan. Then an early night ready for the last week of term 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

I went to a gym class yesterday morning and was freezing after so got back into bed and spent the day scrolling, I even fell asleep for 2 hours, I never nap. Felt so guilty as hate not achieving much or spending a day in bed so when I got up after the nap at teatime I started doing washing and resolved to do much more today - I have a blood test next week and have a strong feeling my iron/b12 will come back low, I take a supplement but until I know for sure, nothing hardcore.

It's chores today though, washing is on the go, I have stripped throw cushions on the sofa and washing them with the sofa blankets, I'm on a mission now so may wash living room curtains too!

I need to visit my brother in hospital then my plan is to refresh the bathroom paintwork including walls, redo the seal around the bath with one I bought off Amazon yesterday and clean the inside of the front door. Through the week I want to paint the banister on the stairs where paint has worn away and repaint the exterior front door before I turn my attentions to redecorating the downstairs toilet and utility. The utility is currently white with navy cupboards, Id like to have a more family friendly colour on the walls but not sure what might work with the blue, I really do like the white but it is high maintenance! Suggestions welcome!

Ditto for the downstairs toilet which is lovely and bright painted white with tile effect on the back wall but definitely needs a colour, it somehow is the dirtiest spot in the whole house!

Youngest DC still out from a sleepover at her cousins and hubby working which is very rare for a Sunday so im also working through the latest series of 'You' and realised I hadn't watched the previous series yet either.

Afternoon :) we are off on holiday tomorrow to a caravan park in Scotland so today is washing, cleaning and packing! Kids have played in the garden and had a bath so are being given largely free rein with screen time this afternoon to keep them out of the way. DD is also going to pod the broad beans for tonight’s stew.

DH wants to game tonight so I will probably read my book and make to do lists! I like going away but I always feel a little bit anxious about forgetting something

Stirabout · 18/05/2025 13:38

It’s my turn to do Sunday lunch and I have no idea what to do.

I don’t think I’ll get away with stirabout again 🤣🤣

I think the weather here in Scotland has to be fine this week. We've had a glorious spell of weather. If you are near water, watch out for blue/green algae. It's bad news. Otherwise have a lovely time

I've done some online work I should have done Friday. Sorted kids uniforms, tidied up a bit. DH is in work until 3 then we will take the kids to the beach and have tea out somewhere. I'll try and convince my 21 yr old to come out with us.

I had an accident on my motorbike yesterday, I’m stiff from top to toe and have hurt my wrist. My DH stayed over last night to look after me (we’re currently living apart but we are working on things, a different topic, lol). We had a lie in and then stayed in bed talking about my accident and processing stuff. I’m now in the living room whilst he’s in the kitchen making me eggs, bacon and crumpets, yum!
We’ll nip over to my parents later where I will tie myself in knots and give myself great pain trying to hide the accident from them, lol. I’m in my 50’s but couldn’t take the stress from them lecturing me on being too old to still be riding.

I started a new job last week so prepping for this week - breakfast/lunches etc (office is in the middle of nowhere). OH is at the rugby this afternoon so will meet up with him and some friends for a glass of wine later before an early night.

Good afternoon @lucysmam & everyone - late to the party today. Woke around 7.30 & had a cuppa made by DH brought to me in bed a bit later. Fell asleep & didn’t wake until gone 11. Had Indian leftovers for brunch which was delicious. I found out this morning that I’m on the list for an op tomorrow - first I’ve heard! Need to pack an overnight bag just in case but hopefully it will be day surgery. I can eat up until midnight but I always worry so tend to either have no evening meal or something very light like toast & honey. Beautiful weather here again so might sit in the garden for a bit. Will ask DH to get the chair out of the summerhouse before he goes cycling. I haven’t seen much of DD16 today. She’s happy as yet more Amazon parcels have arrived. The washing machine is on yet again. We sorted out all the bedding & must have done at least 8 loads. Some to keep, some to donate, a few bits to sell. It was quite nice to go down memory lane when we were sorting it. Going to watch BGT & try to get an early night - stayed up to watch the Eurovision results.

I missed this post earlier. But I’ve been feeling tired all weekend so had a nap earlier. I’ve taken the dog on a long dog walk and just made cheese on toast. My partner doesn’t live with me and he went back home this morning after a cinema visit last night. I’m about to do some work that I’ve been putting off all day!

lucysmam · 18/05/2025 19:58

I went for a nap too, this afternoon 💤. I do quite like an afternoon snooze.

I'm just going to look for a free crochet pattern for a knight's helmet, then have an hour or two with my book before bed. I still have quite the tbr pile from Christmas and my birthday 🙈. Dd2's pinched my battered copy of Interview With The Vampire, so should be busy for a good while with that and the rest of them.

I submitted my final assignment for my OU course! So chuffed as I thought I was going to be working on it up to the wire. It all just fell into place this afternoon.

@KawasakiBabe sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you’re on the mend x

ssd · 18/05/2025 22:08

I love an afternoon map too @lucysmam

Good luck for your op @RabbitsRock

KawasakiBabe · 19/05/2025 17:04

@GottaWork Thank you. I’m doing much better, I’ve hurt my wrist and my ego 🤣
Good job on your OU Course, it’s amazing when it all falls into place. It’s a long time since I had anything like that to do, but remember it well.
