Recommend me a good puzzle book

When I go on holiday I like to take a puzzle book to pass the time at the airport etc. Can anyone recommend a good one? I usually get one of the own-brand ones from Sainsburys or Tesco, with crosswords, wordsearches, sudoku etc, but I’d like more of a mix of puzzles.

I don’t like word searches but do like logic puzzles, and I’m happy enough to have crosswords and things in the mix as well. I’m not looking for anything too complicated; the level of the Sainsburys one is about right for me!

I once bought a book of Japanese-style puzzles and that was really good, but I can’t find anything similar that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Don't want to spend more than £7-8, and it needs to be reasonably portable.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Logic puzzles are brilliant - give them a go

Thanks! Can you recommend a book or magazine with them? Preferably with other puzzle types too!

Try ‘Brain Games for Adults’ by Gareth Moore. I like the variety and most of them are logic and reasoning based.

Can anyone explain how to do 'wordle' ?

Yes! We buy Hanji books where you colour in the grid to make a picture. We've started buying online as they are so hard to find, though can occasionally find them in Smith's. I'll find the link. There is also a SuperHanji version which I find v challenging.

I would not recommend Murdle. It's aimed at people who have never done grid logic problems IMO.

An old thread, but if you're still looking for something different, you could check out the QuoteBox puzzles on my site: www.patreon.com/bertbakerpuzzles. I'm the chap who used to do The Ladygram (and other stuff) in The Lady, and they're basically an evolution of that puzzle. There are now three free examples on the site, and you can print them out and do them at the airport or wherever :)
