Oh I thought you’d posted about a cruise through fjords but your teens wanted sun?

We've done several with RC in Europe with tweens/teens and they've been excellent.

GrumpyCatHasFleas · 15/05/2025 11:25

No, you must be getting me mixed up with someone else
but I’d be interested in going to see the fjords sometime

but I’m thinking of a Caribbean cruise at Easter
with a week stay in Orlando

Royal Caribbean. Absolutely brilliant. We’re planning the next one with the kids too…and then for our retirement holiday. Both in our 40s 😂

We have sailed with different companies and it depends what your priorities are - food, activities, shows etc
personally, we love Celebrity, great atmosphere, food, activities etc and the teen club has been a hit with my kids for making friends.

I always book my cruise direct with RC but the Orlando stay as a package through universal (we don’t do Disney, just universal)

heidyho · 15/05/2025 19:37

RC are the best imo but beware once you go with them you'll never want to go with any other liner again! 🤩

samlovesdilys · 15/05/2025 20:26

You can book directly or through a travel agent - we use Bolsover Travel but there are many

HermioneWeasley · 15/05/2025 20:35

I was disappointed with royal Caribbean (we cruised the Mediterranean not the Caribbean)

disney cruises are superb and not just for little kids

EndlesslyDecluttering · 15/05/2025 20:45

We've always booked directly with RC, either cruise only from Southampton or cruise, flights and transfers from hotel to cruise and cruise to airport (we usually fly in a few days early but go home straight afterwards). That way if anything fails to connect it's on them to sort out. Also means you can make any additions and changes easily yourself through their website eg drinks packages, excursions etc instead of having to go through the TA. It might not be the cheapest way but it is easy.

As they say on RC “the more you booze, the better the cruise” 🚢 no, seriously, we have booked stays via RC, as they will let you know of stop points and corresponding hotels/ lodgings that will allow for taxi pick ups and drop offs. It is very smooth. I would speak to a tour operator and discuss options. Then they will give you a few suggestions with dates and days and islands that you may be interested in staying at.

Enjoy enjoy enjoy!

GrumpyCatHasFleas · 17/05/2025 10:44

Is it vary boozy on RC then ? As that’s not really my thing, I don’t actually drink because of health reasons

OP posts:
EndlesslyDecluttering · 17/05/2025 11:02

Well I've never heard that said but haven't got anything to compare with as we've only cruised RC. There are bars everywhere and cocktails galore but they are very weak and I wouldn't say it's a boozy culture, just a very chilled one. Never noticed anyone getting really drunk. No problem at all if you don't drink alcohol, it's not pushed at you.
