Your ideal day if you could do absolutely anything?

lighthearted. I have two very young babies 14 months and 3 months so I’m just sitting in the garden day dreaming about my perfect day.

what would your perfect day be? What would you choose to do for a full 12 hours.

i honestly can’t decide if i would book a spa day and spend the day completely alone or if I’d go to a theme park and have a full day of fun with my husband.

A really lovely hair cut, massage and beauty treatments, a make over, fabulous dinner, cruise on the Thames, afternoon tea picnic on Primrose Hill, dinner somewhere nice with a view and then Theatre, good book, nice bed, knowing I can wake up and do it again soon.

@readingismycardiohaha the 14 month old is very hard work at the moment. He is into absolutely everything and keeps me firmly on my toes 😂

Sleep and a takeaway

MookieCat · 14/05/2025 20:42

Oooh. My favourite kind of musing.

I'd be in Paris. In a nice hotel. I'd wake around 7 am and take a swim in the pool followed by pastries and coffee. (I'm gluten intolerant so pastries are a dream).

Then out for a little sightsee for 2 hours and a stop for a glass of kir royale. Visit a museum. A leisurely lunch. Sit in a garden and watch the world go by. Rouse myself about 4 pm and go back to the hotel for a shower and a sit on the balcony. Then out for a lovely dinner and maybe the opera or theatre.

Horse riding and cats - I forgot that. It would have to be in there. And some time at the beach with my dog and children - I might need more than I day

MiddleAgedDread · 14/05/2025 20:46

A lie in (by which I mean after 7am)
sex with BF
a nice breakfast, maybe pancakes and fruit with coffee
a run and gym session
late lunch with wine at a nice reataurant
walk along the prom
ice cream by the beach
early evening pint at the local
more sex
tapas and wine for dinner

GardenGaff · 14/05/2025 20:49

My perfect day involves having no plans whatsoever and just deciding hour by hour what I want to do.

In my usual day to day life, even appointments for nice things irritate me, as it's a commitment or a responsibility in my day.

It's so rare that I get a day where I wake up and think "what do I fancy doing for the next hour, and the next, and the next...?"

Luxurious day in Paris with H

Oystersandchampagne · 14/05/2025 20:55

I would wake up in Sydney and get the ferry from circular quay to Manly, walk to the beach and wander along to Curl curl beach ,have lunch and get back to Darling harbour for dinner and wine ! In my dreams and reminiscing from 30 years ago!

Lifeisrelentless · 14/05/2025 21:42

A lie in, a nice breakfast and coffee - something like granola, yoghurt and berries or poached eggs, halloumi, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes etc
A long run in nice scenery/countryside - 10 miles or so
a shower and hair wash followed by an indulgent lunch like a big bowl of filled pasta in carbonara sauce while watching some crime documentary or similar on tv
a nap with no alarm or schedule
A couple of hours at a nice spa for a swim/steam etc
dinner and a couple of cocktails somewhere nice with the husband
get into bed with fresh bed sheets to watch something easy watching together before going to sleep

i love this kind of day dreaming.. I’d love to do this if my kids were being looked after for the day/night but I don’t think it’ll ever happen!!

Lifealittleboulder · 14/05/2025 21:49

I’m sick and can’t do much I used to, I’d be well for a day..

id take my kids and husband to the beach and run and play with them and swim in the sea, we’d get ice cream and build sandcastles and just be together then we’d go for fish and chips and eat them watching the sunset. Then I’d meet my girl friends for cocktails somewhere with outside seating and I’d stay up late laughing with them- I’d be well the whole time and not need any time to recover. It would be amazing

helloquitty · 14/05/2025 21:53

I would spend the day in my spotless house eating snacks and watching tv in bed scrolling on my phone too.

UseNailOil · 14/05/2025 22:05

A run with a friend in nature - blue skies and sunshine, not yet too hot.

Healthy breakfast

Sunbathe and have little phone calls with my kids - both happy and not complaining about anything

Healthy salad-y lunch

More of the same

Nice bath

Someone comes to the house and gives me an amazing massage

Healthy, early tea

Curl up on the sofa with the dog and watch my favourite telly programmes

Earky to bed in clean sheets

I would get up around 8am. I wouldn't be at work....DH would be dropping DDs off at school then heading to the office so there'd be no need for me to rush out the door. I would give them a kiss and hug and then I would sit in the garden with a coffee. I'd get dressed and then go for a walk in the sunshine listening to a podcast.

I'd meet a friend for a long lunch at a tapas restaurant and drink red wine and chat rubbish. Then I would go to an art gallery by myself and wander round looking at all the paintings.

I'd arrive home just before DH and DDs and we would play a boardgame, eat dinner together and watch a film all cuddled on the sofa.

Once DDs were in bed I'd have a long bubble bath and a good chat with DH and then I'd go to bed with my book. DH and I would get an early night and fall asleep cuddling.

I would spend a lovely day at home tidying, cleaning and organising.

My kind of day too .
I would want a warm sunny day and after my cleaning etc i would potter around my lush green garden ,top up the bird baths ,sniff the lavender and sit in my summerhouse and read ,probably a bit of a snooze too.
I would like a cinnamon bun and fruit compote for breakfast , some crusty bread butter cheese and a vine tomato and gerkins for lunch, and for dinner some perfectly made -by someone else ,spaghetti bolognese with some very herby garlic bread.
After dinner i would like a bath with posh bubble bath and an early night in bed with line dried fresh bedding and a bit more reading.
It would have to be a Friday so i can have a similar day again on Saturday.
My working day peoples me out ! peace and quiet is what i crave.

OurManyEnds · 14/05/2025 22:37

Wake up before everyone else.

In the garden have two coffees and three cigarettes.

Take my time getting ready with loud music on.

Take my camera and go to a couple of car meets and take loads of great shots.

Take myself for lunch and a pint.

Go shopping, buy some make up and some jeans that would obviously fit perfectly.

Stop for coffee in a nice bookshop.

Head home and run a hot bath, put music on, and edit all of the photos I took.

upinaballoon · 14/05/2025 22:39

I'd go on a magic carpet to Rome. It would take 3 seconds to get there and the same to get home.
