Let's hope any compensation he gets isn't swallowed up by his charges for board and lodging.

A black-and-white police mugshot of Peter Sullivan, taken in 1986. In the photograph he has black bushy hair and is wearing a woolly coat.

It's still disingenuous (to the point of offensiveness) to compare a case where there was neither actus nor mens rea with a case where there has never been any question of the actus rea.

That is by your own explanation.

I wonder if typing even more words can change that fact ? Are we going to try ?

I did read he'll have to wait 2 years for the (up to) £1,000,000 he could possibly be awared. Presumably that isn't a given.

As noted upthread, being banged up despite being innocent doesn't always require compensation

Innocent after five years in jail but they won't pay him a penny compensation

Wrongfully jailed for crimes he did not commit, innocent Brian Buckle and his family spent years proving his innocence - now MoJ have dropped another bombshell.

“…Luckily “we” changed the law a while back to ensure that wrongful convictions don’t require automatic compensation……..”

You are kidding @SerendipityJane

Nope she's not. Look up Sam Hallam who was wrongly convicted of murder and has been denied any compensation.
