"Just Cant Wait" cards....anyone have any knowledge of them?

Posting with the knowledge and permission of my sister.

She has a serious issue with her bowels due to gall bladder problems. She is waiting for surgery. Problem is that when she needs to go, she has to go right then and has almost had accidents.

The thing is, a lot of people dont seem to know about them so do they actually work in practice? I know where I used to work most of the staff wouldnt know about it, there was no training or information about, never has been in any of the customer facing roles I have had.

Any advice or information would be really useful.

TIA x

They’re not commonly accepted, I don’t believe, even in central London. It’s a nice idea, but I don’t think it’d do much. I’d just get a radar key, if I was her.

What a good idea.

Good luck with her treatment.

We had these presented when I worked on retail

we were not allowed to offer up staff facilities. So for us, they were pointless

I've never heard of them. She needs a radar key.

Thanks for the info.

Thinking card plus radar key (mainly to show the busybodies who will demand to know why she is using a disabled loo.....) would be the best approach.

This is what I wondered - most venues have a hard line on people using staff toilets for insurance reasons.

Or is it more in terms of she doesn't have time to order a drink before using the customer toilets?

Radar keys are only for disabled toilets- what if there isn’t one?

I have one for my bowel disease and I’ve been able to use it both abroad and in the uk. They are relatively common in the north west where I am .

I've never heard of them. I certainly wouldn't be explaining myself to anyone quizzing me about using a disabled toilet. I'd tell them to mind their own business!

Why do you need to show the busy bodies anything? They should mind their own business.

But they dont do they. We all know what they should do, the problem is that they dont do it.

I know my sister would feel very self conscious and having that to show would mean that she didnt have to say anything more than "Because I am entitled to" and walk away.

If nothing else, it might help educate someone.

My DS2 (adult) has Ulcerative Colitis and really can't wait if he needs to go.
We just take a radar key. No-one has ever questioned him about it :)
(He also has autism and learning disability but you can't see that either!)
