Dog poo in the garden - would this bother you

I am trying to work out if I am particularly sensitive/unreasonable.

i live in a “nice” but densely populated part of London - so very small gardens right next to each other. One of my next door neighbours got a dog a while ago. I have had some issues with barking (had another thread in this!) but overall this neighbour is not too bad, so I don’t want to complain. However, over the last few days I have noticed that their garden is full of dog poo. (I can see if from my window.) Not “call environmental health” bad, but at least 5 or 6 large deposits that I can see and no one cleaning up. It puts me off sitting in my own garden, as it’s literally a meter away, with just a wooden fence there.

Would this upset you?

DH clears our garden at least once a day plus obviously we clear up our dogs poo when out walking.
I would imagine it will get stinky and it will definitely attract flies.
Not sure there’s anything you can do though.
Local to me is a business that comes round weekly to clear your garden of dog poo and disinfect where the poo was.
It really is gross to leave it for ages.

It will very quickly become a ' Call Environmental Heath ' issue
smell and flies...

My neighbours yard is full of dog mess. There’s is literally a wooden fence between the two yards and in the summer it absolutely stink. She can go weeks without cleaning it, and when she does, it’s usually all in one plastic bag pushed to one side so her kid can go play. She doesn’t walk her dog either and I know it messes in the house as she’s got her rugs hanging on the line multiple times a week. She’s not approachable at all. Hopefully your neighbour is OP

Not sure if this exists where you are, but you could try the local dog warden. Faeces strewn round a small garden is not good for the dog in question and the warden would want the dog to be in a suitable environment.

It's very unpleasant but I'm not sure there is anything you can do about it as it is confined to their property.

My dog goes out first thing and does her business - she also has form for going on a 45 minute walk then coming home and doing a poo straight away in the garden! I clean it up every other day as it’s unsightly and in the summer especially must smell. It’s actual presence on the other side of a fence wouldn’t bother me but the smell would. If it does smell you’ll have to tell them.

@ShieldMaiden8 that sounds truly vile.

I am truly hoping that in my case it’s just a temporary problem.

@Whoarethoseguys it can actually be a statutory nuisance resulting in prosecution, but I obviously don’t want to go down that path unless it becomes unbearable!!

My dog often goes twice a day (and yes I clean up straight away when he does it) so whist it's horrible it's at most 6 days worth but more likely 3 so they must be cleaning up usually. Maybe they're unwell and haven't been able to, but if it doesn't get picked up soon I would definitely say something (nicely).
