Which patients do the paramedics at your GP surgery see?

Just as the title suggests really…..

If you need to be seen by someone at your surgery, and they have paramedics on staff, what range of conditions do they see/treat? Are there any patients they don’t see?

Secondly, if you have ongoing health needs due to an autoimmune condition, and need to have your whole situation reviewed due to increasing needs/deterioration, possible change of medication, need input of OT for equipment and support to manage daily activities of living at home, and to discuss the effects of everything on the mental well-being of the patient - who would you expect to be allocated an appointment with?

I fit the description of the patient in your OP. I am also a retired nurse with years of experience in hospital and gp. I was a clinical nurse specialist in chronic disease management, seeing patients in the surgery but with a direct line to the consultant and shared access to clinical records.
IMO the role I had was very helpful for patients to check in, talk through issues, have their blood tests done, I could speak directly to their GP, practice nurse and consultant. Of course the Trust and the CCG argued constantly about funding and got rid of my team.
In my own situation, I have to attend 4 different departments in 3 different hospitals. Only the rheumatology department has a nursing team. However, they never answer the phone, rarely reply to voice mails or emails. It is a constant round of cancelled appointments, chasing prescriptions, trying to get hold of lab forms so I can get my blood tests done. The stress doesn't help.I see my consultant once a year for 10 minutes. My GP doesn't get involved.
Paramedic IMO would be most useful doing phone triage. Not chronic disease management.

They seem to see everyone at ours. Even if you ask to see a GP due to persistent, frequent problems that have landed you in an ambulance previously.
