Has anyone changed their whole family to being vegetarian ?

Over the last couple of months I’ve become vegetarian. I just started to really question my enjoyment of meat, I also read about processed meats being a cause of bowel cancer.

As I do all the cooking rather than variations on meals and doing separate meat / veg ones I just made everyone the same (vegetarian).

Dh will still buy ham for his sandwiches but the dc have now by default become vegetarian. Has anyone else made this change as a whole household? Dh said if that’s what I want to do he’s happy to not buy meat / fish anymore.

I’ve been giving the dc a different multivitamin as was concerned they may lack more important nutrients but they seem fine. We aren’t going to go totally vegan but I have stopped using cows milk and use soya milk instead now / coconut or soya yogurt.

The dc are 6,8 and 13. I haven’t said they are vegetarian for school as I think it’s really their choice and they know what meat is and where it comes from and have been making the vegetarian choice themselves so far anyway . Not sure if I should say or not or continue to allow them that choice outside of the home ?

I think it's fine unless the children are opposed to it.
I'm vegetarian and have been since a teenager. I brought my family up only cooking vegetarian meals and they were happy with it, they didn't want meat. They could have had it, as my partner wasn't vegetarian and sometimes bought meat. However, they didn't stick to it forever, they both started eating meat eventually and neither has ended up vegetarian.
I knew a family with vegetarian parents but the children could eat anything when they were dining out or getting a takeaway.
I don't think you can tell a 13 year old's school that they are vegetarian as they all just make their own choices at secondary and it isn't monitored anyway? At least, that's how our school is.
