Hay fever: herbal/natural remedies

Posting here for traffic.

Hay fever is kicking in but I want to avoid the usual antihistamines given all the recent news about them maybe raising dementia risk.

Does anyone know of any herbal/natural things I can take instead? I have some homeopathic tablets but am very unconvinced that they work, plus you're supposed to take them three times a day and it's a bit of a pain. Ideally I'd like something you take once a day.

TIA.

Antihistamines work.

Homeopathy is water.

The dementia risk from non-sedating antihistamines is not big, and from steroid nasal sprays (which often work better than antihistamine) it's nothing.

Thasnk. I know the risks are currently thought to be small, but it's my decision to try to avoid them.
I am hoping for herbal rather than homeopathic remedies. I only mentioned those to illustrate that I'd rather not have something you have to take multiple times a day.

My dd has local honey every day and it seems to work for her.

Qurcetin is supposed to help. You can get it in tablet form.

Also, nettle tea. You could also try avoiding eating foods which encourage the production o.f histamine

Local honey is the only thing that I'm aware of - I'd be surprised if there's anything local which has any evidence of benefit.

You could have a look if there's anything for hayfever on the THR list https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/herbal-medicines-granted-a-traditional-herbal-registration-thr
