What kind of headphones do your tweens use?

Do they use the type that go in the ear, AirPod style? Or big padded over the head ones? Or other?

DS 12 needs a new pair, he doesn’t have strong feelings on what style to get but quiet fancies a change from the current ones which are the flat headband style. I think his ears are very small for the AirPod style though.

Generic style or specific links all appreciated.

My DS has these, they don't go in the ear (see photos) so protect kids hearing and also aren't noise cancelling (so he can hear me and DH calling upstairs!) Buy Shokz Openfit Air True Wireless Earbuds - White | Wireless headphones | Argos. He prefers them because the airpods just won't stay in his ears. Both my DDs have airpods pro, which are noise cancelling, but they annoy my younger DD by falling out and she prefers her brother's.

I have a similar set myself for running but I think they would annoy DS because of background noise? He might be watching his iPad whilst his little sister watches the tv (or chats) and wouldn’t be able to hear well with these I think - is that an issue for your DS? I would wouldn’t want true noise cancelling for him though absolutely

@RockettFuel My DS doesn't have an issue with it (and his younger sister doesn't either when she borrows them), I think they learn to tune the sound out so it's just like listening to something without headphones on. It might be worth letting your DS try yours to see if they annoy him

Both. Over the head ones for gaming. Air pods for other stuff.
