Am I missing anywhere other than the usual, e.g. onthebeach, loveholidays, and then actual non-independent agents like Thomas Cook/TUI, Jet2 etc.

Are they all much of a muchness, really? Obviously the agents won't have as much choice across all companies I guess.

@NashEnquirer we've used OntheBeach the last 5 years and have zero complaints.

They're cheaper and I like that you can customise the booking with transfers, airlines, seat choices and they give freebies like Fast Track Security and free Lounge access.

Once booking, our return transfer left without us. We called to complain and were refunded fast. Excellent customer service considering they are online with no high street branches.

I don't see the point in spending £300 plus more per booking with Jet2 for the same holiday or TUI who we've seen be unreliable.

I give them a 9.5 out of 10. Docking half a point because on some holidays they don't offer a bigger choice of airlines so for Turkey, you get SunExpress when you might prefer Tui or Corendon.

One reason I book mine as separates and just pay for cabs or sometimes hire cars is my H is very fussy about flight times etc and ‘specific rooms and sizes’. Much easier to do all this as separates. I’m always quite suprised when people think they’ve got a bargain on a 50% child price, especially if not AI , when in reality if doing separately all you are paying for the child is the flight- as the room/apartment is fixed cost of its 1 of you or 4 of you. I’ve known people pay £450 for a child on a self catering holiday and think it’s bargain, when in actual fact the flight is£220 - with everything , bag, seat etc -

After much dithering, in the end I went with Jet2. I liked that luggage and coach transfers were included (we're not staying too far from the airport) and their filters/search facility was pretty good.

I tried Thomas Cook but a lot of the packages I clicked on there said "no rooms available on your dates" which was annoying! You have to add luggage and transfers with them too.

I think OTB and loveholidays have pretty good filters etc but it's easier for me to see a pretty much final.price from the beginning.

I actually called my local TUI and I have to say, they were really helpful, but couldn't find anything better than I'd found on their website. Also I think you don't have as much flexibility with flights - the TUI website was happy to let me choose non-TUI flights but it was very picky about what times I was allowed to choose from 🙄 at one point I was about to book via their website but the holiday went up by £600 as I was doing it, and I was so annoyed that I chose somewhere else via Jet2.

I've been on quite a few Love Holiday packages and not had any problems. I have had a problem with Jet 2

I nearly booked through Tui for Tenerife but Expedia had the same hotel, flights etc for £300 less.
