Memory loss, zero concentration…

I’m 46 and in the last couple of months or so have really started to struggle with concentration and my memory… I feel like I’m losing my mind! I’ve always been a bit of a procrastinator, but these last few weeks have been something else- I literally can’t seem to concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes. My job requires quite a lot of focus and ‘thinking’ on my own so it’s really starting to have an impact, I start a task and within minutes without even realising my mind has wandered and I’ve started doing something completely unrelated. It’s like my mind has gone off on a tangent of its own.

I’m also frequently losing things, finding I’ve put something down somewhere completely random… I never used to do this.

Does this sound like peri brain fog? Or should I be worried about something else? Sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy. If anyone has any tips for how to manage this I would be very grateful!

Peri or low Vitamin D.
Get a blood test to check all vitamins as low B12 can also cause brain fog

Thanks, that’s interesting- I think a GP appointment might be in order in that case. I’ll definitely need to do something as I can’t carry on like this!

Definitely GP appointment, but while you are waiting get some multi-B vitamins (all the supermarkets sell them, they're cheap) and take one last thing at night with a small glass of milk. At least two hours after your last alcohol/tea/coffee- any of those flush the Bs (which support each other, hence not boosting one on its own) out of your system.

Can't harm you, might help you.

Also get your thyroid levels checked…tsh and thyroid antibodies
