Thanks everyone! Ill def try the HG mould remover first and if it doesn't work ill reseal. Is the best way to prevent this happening to the new sealant using HG mould remover regularly? Or should I be doing something after bath/shower each time?

I give it a spray about once a month - it really keeps the mould at bay (obviously air the room too). Just spray it on and you’ll see a massive difference in the grout in about an hour. Sealant might take a bit longer.

It needs regrouting. If you haven't got time to do it you can buy the touch up one which just goes on top of the old sealant.

I’m with IKEA on Mould Magic. My bathroom was worse than yours and it absolutely vanished. A wee bit has come back now but I’ll just reapply.

HG mould remover!

Best thing I have ever found.

Yes, open the window as it's strong.

When I finish showering in the morning, run dish daddy over the tiles, bath sides and shower screen and rinse. Only takes a minute and keeps the area clean.

HG mould remover!

Best thing I have ever found.

This is what we have used. Leaving it overnight to work

Another vote for mould magic!! Totally transformed my bathroom and so easy!

Gobolino80 · 03/05/2025 22:38

Killrock mould remover spray. Spray liberally shut the door and leave the window wide open and that will be gone within a few hours

Daftapath · 04/05/2025 18:39

Another Mould Magic vote! Mine completely disappeared.

Do you have a fan to pull damp air out of the room? Leave it on for 20 minutes after you shower.
Open your window to let the steamy air out.

Use a squeegee to squeegee water off the tiles after each shower.

Make sure you clean your tiles and grout frequently to prevent soap scum and dead skin buildup. Mould loves both.

Spraying the entire shower area with white vinegar after a shower will also help.

But airing the bathroom is crucial.

Redo silicone
grout will clean up with bleach

everything aside that grout needs redoing there’s on way that with be waterproof water will be getting behind the tiles

This - totally! It’s a miracle 😂

Trust me, that’s not disgusting.
Cillit Bang mould remover, follow the instructions and rub off with a grout cleaner. Please wear a mask and open your window if possible. Never fails.

Buzyizzy217 · 04/05/2025 20:43

HG Mould kills your lungs!! It’s dreadful stuff and god knows what it does to the environment. IT’S VERY TOXIC! DO NOT USE, once it’s in the water, it kills everything! 😭

justasking111 · 04/05/2025 21:30

I've found a bit of mould today, am going to try the Listerine again. Where I used it last time the mould hasn't reappeared. DH replaced all the sealant in the bath a few months ago. So it doesn't last long.

MargaritaPracticallyCan · 04/05/2025 21:41

Apply a bead of bleach to the mouldy bits, cover with cotton wool, leave overnight (ventilate the room) and in the morning the mould will be gone. I didn't believe it'd work after seeing it on a TV show but it really does.

Buzyizzy217 · 05/05/2025 10:21

Bleach is the absolute worst for the environment, followed by HG, then Cillit Bang is less harmful.
ECOZONE is just as effective and won’t harm the environment, so safe for fish and ecosystems. So important for future generations.

SirChenjins · 05/05/2025 10:48

No it’s not - I’ve tried them all.

I’m not sure you read my post correctly. Or are you a fish?

Buzyizzy217 · 05/05/2025 14:24

Just think what you’re doing to the environment 🥺

olympicsrock · 05/05/2025 14:27

Needs the silicone sealant removing , and resealing

Buzyizzy217 · 05/05/2025 14:28

Having lived in numerous houses in different environments, I’ve never encountered a mould problem. You’re obviously not properly ventilating your home. Keep the windows open a little 24/7 and every day open them wide, one either side of the house to let all the stale air out, leave for 30 minutes, whatever the weather or temperature.
Proper ventilation is the solution, not harmful chemicals that destroy ecosystems.
