Gone back to pure thick bleach

There was a thread on here a few weeks back where some people were quite vocal about their hate of bleach so I thought I'd try and swap over from bleach.

I lasted three or four weeks but I've gone back to pure thick bleach. Sorry, but toilet duck etc are just not strong enough for my liking (+ the streaky colours dripping down from under the toilet rims even a day or so after use and flushed multiple times were just an eyesore).

I always use the black harpic. Gets the limescale too.

I use Nancy birtwhistles pure magic gel. Rarely use bleach

I`ve used thick bleach all my life even wash up with it.

I like proper thick, strong bleach too, the sort that clings. Nothing like it for cleaning round kitchen sink plugholes or for getting stains off chopping boards, mugs and teaspoons.

Madness. People think toilet brushes are 'disgusting' here one MN, yet in real life everyone I know squirts a bit of toilet cleaner or liquid soap under the rim, leaves it for a bit then gives the bowl and the accessible bit of the pipe a quick scrub with a brush.
Clean loo, no limescale, no streaks and clean brush from being held under the flush. And a lot less bleach in our water.

Bleach! Jeez it's so bad for the environment. Ecover works as well and not as hideous for marine life.

The Tesco own brand bleach has changed. It used to smell lovely after being squirted under the toilet rim. Now it has no smell 😞

Yes, it has changed. I'd not noticed a change of smell but it's definitely much thinner than it used to be, and can no longer really be described as thick. I've switched to Aldi bleach which is much better.

bleach damages porcelain. Early signs are the glaze becomes dull. Then the porcelain has a microscopic porous surface that bacteria gets in. It also holds stains and makes poo stick more.

so long term bleach use are self sabotaging their attempts to be more hygienic
