Water infection - toddler?

DD is 2.5, I've posted recently that she potty trained herself suddenly. Said she was done with nappies on Easter weekend and went straight for the toilet. First two days had a few accidents and held her wee in but now it's nearly two weeks and she's been dry all night and all day, knows when to go, etc.

Today she had two wee accidents at nursery. When she came home she weed and then after dinner had a poo. When I brought her to bed she said she had to wee but nothing came. Then 2-3 more times at bedtime she said she needed to wee, one tiny poo came out. She was crying and a bit out of sorts but she's often a bit tired after nursery. She finally settled and a few minutes after getting into bed, she called out that she needed to wee and weed on the floor in her room. I've taught her to sort of pat in the front after a wee and I do her bum after a poo, but she was sort of reaching back and wiping back to front after wees.

She hasn't got a fever but is this possibly a water infection? Or just normal for a newly toilet trained 2 yo?

My daughter had a UTI recently, she had a fever and wasn't weeing more / less than usual but the doctor said that basically kids can present very differently than adults with UTIs so it might be worth getting her checked and/or keep an eye on her over the weekend if you can't easily get an out of hours appointment?

It’s worth ringing 111 and getting an out of hours appointment. It’s very easy to rule an infection in or out with a urine sample (though I appreciate getting that sample might be a bit more challenging!) and constipation can be the cause of a uti-like symptoms so make sure that’s mentioned too. My dd is prone to thrush and has a tendency to describe her symptoms as more uti-like.

does calpol help her feel more comfortable?

Try and get a wee sample from the potty. Save it in a jar and take that to be tested.
I would put a toddler into pull ups at bedtime just in case, especially after a nursery day when she might be over tired.
