Going tomorrow and still a bit of a newbie, please give me your best recommendations on what to fill my trolley with Grin

I went for the first time earlier this week with a mate - I can recommend the Rotisserie Roast Chicken £3.99. I picked up pack of sirloin steaks x 10 for around £46 and they are thick and meaty. Also shower gel can be good I buy one that DH likes which in Home Bargains is a little over £1 at Costco get 6 for £3.99 plus Vat so effectively 2 free. Cat food was good too but they didn't have the brand my cat will eat. Petrol is cheap too.
Keep in mind what things cost in your normal shop and then you can check if you are getting a deal or paying more.

WWomble · 02/05/2025 19:58

And we avoid
the cheddar and the pizza!

Matildahoney · 02/05/2025 19:59

How has no one said their fresh macaroni cheese?!
Meat, sausages, prawn toasts, any of their Chinese food,

HouseFullOfChaos · 02/05/2025 20:00

*Kirkland bio laundry liquid is so cheap and gets out more kids stains than anything else I've tried.
*Maple syrup
*Agave Syrup - comes in a double pack and is great to sweeten coffee.
*Multivitamins

All their fresh food is amazing too, the pizza, dirty wedges etc

Always get coffee beans, fresh cookies, fresh curries, chicken hotpot, tray of sandwiches, fresh salmon, chicken breasts, chorizo, tzatziki, dog food, pork joint, gyozas, spring rolls, shampoo, pistachio nuts. Need to branch out and try other things!

EmmaJane2025 · 02/05/2025 21:04

Their frozen vegetable spring rolls in the cardboard box with the handle are DEVINE! No peas either. When they did samples, there were queues of people taking boxes of them front the freezer!
Also, frozen Mac & cheese croquettes in the big black bag are like none else you’ve ever had - so bloody cheesy & creamy!
Also, their birthday cakes are MASSIVE and such good value. You can pre-order on the website with a choice of designs and you can personalise it. I think it’s about £17 and genuinely is over a foot wide

Marmite27 · 02/05/2025 21:06

Two bite brownies!

Didntask · 02/05/2025 21:10

The tubs of crab leg meat.
The square chocolate chip shortbread.
The packs of seed/nut brittle!
Their lamb is amazing.
Avocado oil.
Praline pecans.
And their Peanut Butter Pretzel pockets - divine!!
Neutrogena Rain Bath & Shower Gel.

Oat Milk - ends up around £1.20 each
Taco Kits
Chicken Enchiladas
Maldon Salt
Spices are generally much cheaper
Almond Flour
Beyond Burger - they just started doing them in box - I think 10?

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 02/05/2025 21:18

Oh and petrol - usually much cheaper

IDontLikeMostPeople · 02/05/2025 21:22

The gyozas are lovely and part baked rolls. If you are having a bbq the burgers, sausages and mint kebab things are lush.

CraftyNavySeal · 02/05/2025 21:28

Maple syrup
Toilet wipes
Kirkland shampoo and conditioner (apparently it’s Curology)
Vitamins, Nuromol
Socks
Bin bags, freezer bags, tin foil
Bucket of Maldon salt
Bay leaves
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar

I don’t buy any of the fresh stuff it’s way too big for us, you can order all of the non fresh items online.

WomenInSTEM · 02/05/2025 21:31

We buy...
Bags of lemons and lines
Big boxes of grapes
Sacks of potatoes
Sacks of onions
Sacks of giant red peppers
Asparagus
Boxes of tomatoes
Boxes of mixed mushrooms
Lamb and beef mince
Smoked salmon
Steak
Haddock in breadcrumbs
Frozen fruit
Jars of olives
Jars of pickled chillies
Tinned tomatoes
Tinned tomatoes puree
Tinned tuna
Tinned chickpeas
Tinned red kidney beans
Tinned coconut milk
Bread flour
Red lentils
Dried chickpeas

Rapeseed oil
Maldon salt
Dried herbs and spices
Bottled sparkling water
Wine
Beer
Spirits
Toilet paper
Kitchen roll
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Washing up liquid
Laundry detergent
Bleach
Dog food

I think it's pretty good quality stuff and either cheaper than or the same price as elsewhere. But there's the added bonus of all that shopping done in one go.

Oh my god I'd forgotten about the peanut butter pretzel bites, we affectionately renamed them as crack bites!

Toottooot · 02/05/2025 22:15

Not to buy - but don’t pass up on the samples - depending how many of them are working you’ll get a rare feed.

EveryDayisFriday · 02/05/2025 22:17

Kitchen roll and toilet roll is excellent. We usually get Gyozas and Samosas from freezer. Coffee beans. Everything bagels. The trolley is usually over £100 so there must be other stuff we get.
