Glastonbury tickets

I emerged a competition randomly for tickets with the very remote chance of winning. Anyway I have won two tickets. My intention was to give them to my son who has always wanted to go we all do the whole logging in trying for tickets thing.

Anyhow I asked the competition contact if I could let my son and his friend have the tickets.

The woman dealing with it has been very difficult to liaise with and at long last after several weeks of waiting has said no cannot let my son go . I have a ticket and he can be my guest! He is 20 years old and will definitely not want to camp with his elderly creaky kneed mother!
I know some of you will be fortunate enough to have a son who'd do this but mine will not. I can't really face the idea of wondering around Glastonbury by myself either.
Should I try to persuade the comp people to change the allocation?
Should I go ?
Hoping you'll have some insights
Ps my husband will go but only if we do gkamping which is ££££😳

I don't imagine they will let you transfer the prize - it will be in the t&c. If you don't want to go I would decline the prize and next person will get them.

I’ll come with you OP. I’m over 21.

Could you maybe take him and a friend there and try and get them in?

It might be a long shot but if they're there with all the gear, and you explain your health stuff, they might let them in? 😬 x

your DS’s friend can still get a ticket and go, while you go with your son as guest. You can camp near by but do your own thing. There’s so much to do and so many people it’s not like you’ll ever be alone. Even if you did go with your DS, he’d still have a good time surely. It’s still seeing the music and everything else and he’d be getting it for free. Not to be sniffed at. You can’t give them away!

This is it!! I keep thinking I'll go!! Why not it's a once in a life time event for me! I'm old!! But the line up this year isn't selling it to me.
But it would be quite an experience!!

Will your photo be on the ticket? If not, could he not take a girl mate and say she’s you?

finespineline · 01/05/2025 23:10

I was wondering that- but I don't think any of his friends could pass for a 55 year old woman!!

So much of it isn’t about those main line-ups though. You could spend the whole time off in obscure corners seeing surprising things. Even the people watching is worth it. And there’s loads of people older than 55 there. Don’t talk yourself out of it. Commit to the adventure.

@finespinelineYou should definitely go, as pp has said there is so much on you will always find something you like- part of the fun is seeing artists that you wouldn’t necessarily pay to see otherwise. And if your husband is offering to pay for glamping 😉- even better! See you there!!
