8ft above ground pool

I removed a greenhouse from my garden and want to repurpose the area for a pool but can only really fit one that’s 8ft x 8ft. Just wondering if this would be too small for a 6 yr old and couple of friends?

Fine for splashing and bobbing about in rings, but they won’t be able swim and you couldn’t fit a couple of lilos in it and still move.

Ah that’s a shame, not sure it’s worth the bother

Why don't you mark out a 8 x 8 foot square on the floor. Using masking tape or similar. Then sit in the square with your child. That should give you an idea if its big enough

We had an 8ft round above ground pool for our kids when they were younger and they loved it. It was by Intex and lasted a good few summers. If I was to get another I'd probably get a fixed frame one

@longtompot ah that’s good to know. How many did you have in the pool? I’m guessing round will work better than square anyway

Just asked my dd and she said it was at least 5, maybe 6 on average. They used to play a game of walk round and around the outside edge until they created a whirlpool and then sit down so they were all taken by the current. It was very noisy and I feel for the poor neighbours

I had an Intex 8ft pool OP last Summer and it was great. Your DD will love it. Measure it out properly (lots of videos on youtube on getting it right, it has to be level) and you will need to fit the legs so make sure there is enough space. I would get some carpet or insulation boards (the kind with foil on back) to go under it to help heat it and softer feeling under your feet.
This year we had a concrete pad installed and I've bought the Intex 24ft x 12ft pool which I'm using a saltwater system with. We are going to build a wooden frame round it with decking. Cannot wait to put it up.

They don’t swim properly anyway.

we had one which we put up most summers. They love jumping around in it, floating on it, splashing each other and generally mycking around.

ours was much loved.
