My son is turning 9 in a few weeks (he has ADHD and potentially autism but he is the sweetest little boy ) he does act very immature and speech is babyish and delayed so does show a big difference between his class mates when there together!

As much as I'd love to do a big hall party with a bouncy castle with all his class and other friend's,its going to be super stressful for us all not to mention the cost hall hire bouncy castle food entertainment ect and I don't think he'd fully enjoy it and will become overwhelmed so we're considering a small gaming party at home for about 10 kids max (all boys he wants ) after school for a few hours going from 3.30-7pmish

Son loves gaming! the switch, the Wii, any type of computer console ! We was thinking setting up the consoles on various TVs around the house. Getting McDonalds for dinner and just letting them do whatever they want . We do have toys, hot wheels, building magnets, mini figures(Minecraft, mario,Pokémon) just random bits of toys, bored games and loads of Lego that is broken down so they can rebuild what they want but will they get bored? We've got a small garden so no trampoline or outdoor toys

Would pass the parcel be too immature at this age any party games any ideas truly welcome. We live in a small village we have a bowling alley that does party's but that's all there is .

Brilliant idea - there is actually a company that comes and brings the gaming equipment to set up in your home or with a truck with gamins stations set up inside where I live. I reckon you could find something similar near you?

My son's friend had a party exactly like this and it was a huge hit! They had a Mario Kart tournament and other games and toys around but even when they weren't playing, the kids liked cheering each other on! I hope they have a great time!

Apple bobbing is fun to do and much easier to do in swarmer weather in the garden than at Halloween. The cutting up chocolate bars game wearing gloves ( were there more layers) could keep them occupied. Hope the party goes well.

You could do a treasure hunt with clues - party bags hidden at the end.

Sounds great, OP.

I wouldn’t overthink it. Setting up games consoles, feeding them McDonald’s and letting them play with their pals for a few hours will keep the kids happy.

Maybe stick out some snacks/drinks for them, and you will presumably have a birthday cake for them to have a slice of too. I think games like pass the parcel might seem unappealing when there’s an Xbox sitting waiting upstairs…

Don’t do pass the parcel, 9 is way too old for that!

OP my son us almost 7, and he would absolutely love this party, and would definitely still love it at 9. He loves having a go on the PS with his friends when they come to play after school.

Hope they have fun! 🥳

DS1 (9) would love that...I think I would only have 6/8 kids though.

Nerf gun or laser tag in the garden works well too and definitely a pinata.

Gaming in your home sounds great.

Pickup from 6-7pm.
Only invite six or seven kids.
Have food all prepared - toasties ready etc.
It sounds great fun.
I would have the pass the parcel with each layer a jelly bean for a joke, and the last parcel being the prize.
Party bags could have some lollies and collectable cards.
