How much are you paying for Sky?

I'm paying £94 a month.
This is for Sky Signature
Broadband
Broadband boost

I have said I'm leaving and they have offered me all sorts - Sky Cinema (don't want it), Sky Spirts (No thanks)...
I just feel that even £74 is ridiculous - or am I just out of touch?

We pay 86 but it’s for the biggest size glass (physical TV), broadband and sky itself which has sport, cinema and kids. We also have free Netflix, paramount, Disney and discovery with that so after cancelling all those subscriptions it’s well worth it. Surprised at all the posters saying they’re paying 90+ for no extras? Huh!

I’ve decided I’m in an abusive relationship with Sky and I can never leave 😂! I rang them today with my ‘I’m leaving’ decision made then they put me through to the retention team who basically matched the EE package… Staying with Sky means we keep Sky Go which DS uses as he lives away and DH uses to watch NFL when I’m watching Antiques Roadshow. Cost goes down from £94.50 to £67.49 which is a decent saving but I’ve accepted that I’m probably going to be with Sky forever!

I was under the impression that they can’t do all that anymore! There’s some sort of new guidance where they can’t make it complicated to leave (so putting you through to retention teams and asking you a million questions about why you wanna leave and what package you’re going to next)

£60 for superfast broadband, Netflix included

rumred · 26/04/2025 20:33

4.99 for now sky entertainment ; 17 for virgin broadband. You can do it far more cheaply than you are currently.

I got so sick of the endless every 18 month back and forth threatening to leave and then finally getting a decent deal that this time I actually did leave. We have an Apple fire stick thingy and plan to just circle through the streamers. We did a spreadsheet that showed we should save about £600 a year. Kept broadband though as we’ve always been happy with it.

How did you get to the retention team? I couldn't get past the first line offshore team who could only offer dropping from £181 to £154!

(That's for broadband, boosts, Sports, Netflix etc).

I'm not out of contract till end of June so might have to try again then.

I've worked out I can get the same with EE for £94.

Potterylady13 · 26/04/2025 21:42

I was paying £76 for broadband, TV, Netflix then they put it up to £94. Called and it’s gone down to £77 but had to pay £10 bloody admin fee 😡

GellerYeller · 26/04/2025 22:05

Ours was switched off last week after being with them 20 years. £94 a month.
We’ve tried to leave before and always got a deal to stay. They called three times daily but this time we stuck to it.
I miss the planner and recording, like a PP, we had some films and series stored that I’m missing.
We’ve kept Netflix and Disney. For the time being anyway!

Wow, thanks all! Unfortunately I started this thread when I was on the phone to them and didn't take advantage of the great advice to actually leave and let them come back with an offer. I beat them down and am now paying £61.50 for Sky Q, Broadband and Broadband Boost.
No idea what that means really but thanks again it was so helpful. Especially in helping me realise what a scam the whole thing is 🤬
I hope this thread is useful though, it's just so annoying that you cannot compare like with like

@Notsuchafattynow I refused the offer from the first call handler that I spoke to, stuck to my assertion that I wanted to cancel, he had offered me £10 per month off which was nowhere near the EE package that we were looking at. He then transferred me to the retention team which I was a bit cross about as I WANTED TO LEAVE but they offered me the deal that I’ve taken.

I did make the point that I shouldn’t have to go through this as they would happily have left me paying £94.50 a month if I hadn’t pressed the issue but here we are. Like I say I was adamant I was going to leave but the deal was good enough to make me stay..
