Wembley Arena logistics

I'm going to a concert with DM who is in her 70s.

A few things I'm trying to work out.

What is the food situation outside of Wembley Arena? Is it like 02 with various options from cafes to restaurants? Or is it more empty and everything is inside? What are food options inside like? Is it junk and expensive? (I don't mind expensive junk but DM will...)

Secondly what do people wear? It's a classical concert by a composer. I think theatre wear would not be comfortable e.g. heels. Could I do smart top, jeans and trainers?

Does it take a long time to leave after? As we have to get a train back home.

Any insights appreciated!

Saw The Who there in my 70s. Can’t comment on the food as we were in a hotel nearby but I think there were outlets on the sort of avenue leading to the stadium. I just remember the crush after with the trains. The platform was heaving. We got on the first train which only went one stop so had to alight. I think they did that to disperse the crowd a bit. I hated that bit.

There are loads of food outlets along Wembley Way, and if you have plenty of time there is the Box Park with all sorts of options available - central seats surrounded by different cuisines, so you don't even have to go to the same one if you have different preferences. All much better options than waiting until you are inside the Arena.

As long as there isn't also something on at the Stadium the same day, then getting back to Wembley Park tube is not usually too bad - I'd estimate 10-15 minutes.

I don't know anything about classical music dress code, I'm afraid, but Wembley Arena is a pretty casual venue. I go to gigs there in jeans, t shirt and trainers.

You can use Google street view to explore which is handy to suss things out.

I first read that as in 'the 70s' - was thinking it might have changed now!

Oh no that sounds a nightmare. DM is having wobbles about the train already. Last thing I saw was Kylie at 02 and my vague memory was everything seemed quite spacious. Thank you for letting me know.

I used to work by the Arena. There's a few restaurants outside the arena, from memory, including. TGI, Nandos, Frankie and Bennys, Haute Dolce, Zizi, Las Iguanas, Pret and more.

I wouldn't say it's expensive really.

You can wear anything you feel comfortable in. I've worn trainers to an event at the Arena recently.

Yes I realise now my post was a bit ambiguous. I think it was 2019 we went.
Perhapsyou could go to one of the food/drink outlets after to let the crowd disperse a bit.

Quite a few food places on Olympia way and surrounding streets, plus the shopping centre.
I'd do some serious research though as to what else is on in the area the same day.
check the stadium events. There's also the starlight express theatre, it can be very busy in the general area.
also don't rely on box park for food, they have events too where it's closed to the public.

personally I'd eat elsewhere first and then make my way to the arena
