Eurocamp holiday

I’m massively overthinking this. We’ve never had the money to take DC abroad. We have saved hard and can take them to Spain this year. I booked a Eurocamp for August for a week and am going to book flights but I’m now I’m worried that we should have booked a package holiday as if the flights are cancelled I’ll have to try and claim the money for the holiday on insurance. I’m also surprised at how expensive flights are!
we haven’t been abroad in such a long time (20 years!!) and I really want this to be a good holiday!

would I be better to book a package holiday instead?!

We often book eurocamp sites and flights separately. Flights have never been cancelled. As long as you have insurance it should be fine.

We do it the other way round though and find cheap flights first then look for a site nearby. Skyscanner is a useful site for this.

As you are travelling to Spain I expect if flights are cancelled you can rebook further the next day or even same day. Then claim later on insurance.
the same can happen with package holidays in terms of flights being cancelled. I’d say flight cancellations are relatively rare.
Issues can happen with package holidays the same as you booking flights separately.
Try not to worry and enjoy your holiday.

We always book flights and accommodation separately. As above just make sure you have insurance.

Just check your insurance terms carefully.

If it gives you peace of mind, also look at packages and cancellation fees and then you’ll have a good understanding of what the alternatives are.

As a tip for eurocanp and flying - the welcome pack felt like a good value choice. Salt, pepper, oil etc sorted.

We've done a lot of eurocamp, if we aren't driving we usually find flights first and work from there but never any issues with flights we've had. In the last 12 months we have had two eurocamp holidays in school holidays - one to France for £1100 and one to Croatia for £2k. We're a family of 5 so it works out a lot cheaper for us than a package holiday.
